When talking about Campbell, Edmunds, and Edwards, there a couple of things that stand out.
Edmunds and Edwards play 100% of the snaps with the starting defense. The only snaps they have missed are at the end of blow-outs as evidenced by having the exact same snaps counts in the last 2 games when the Bears were up 3+ scores late.
Campbell only has a single game in his young career where he has played 100% of defensive snaps. He just is not being asked to do as much and to be on the field for all downs. For a 1st round pick linebacker to not play all downs is not great. If he was DL in a rotation, I would understand it. But you expect highly draft LB's and DB's to play every defensive snap.
It's also very telling when you look at the stats and see both Edmunds and Edwards register coverage stats like interceptions and passes deflected, granted Edwards only has the 1 PD. But, you talk about Edmunds and his salary, and it's his ability to defend the pass, his size, length, and speed are a big part of that. It's more than just run stopping.
I would also remind that Edwards was undrafted and has worked his ass off to make his career. He's really a remarkable story on that front.
