My middle daughter struck out 17 in a row at the Peoria tournament. She pitched 6 games that weekend and won all of them. First time we ever won the tournament. Makes a Dad proud. Your kid did good.

Be careful with her arm:)

She is 28 now and just had a baby 2 weeks ago. Never did have an arm problem. When she was catching she could throw out a runner trying to steal 2nd while on her knees.

Regarding fastpitch and mandatory rests/pitch counts, there basically isn't much once a girl reaches highschool competition. The windmill delivery of fastpitch softball is much easier on the arm/shoulder/elbow or so the theory goes.

It is easier but you can absolutely wear out a shoulder if they over pitch a kid. Especially before the girl reaches high school and they still are growing theoretically.. I am sure that the training that they have now for these girls is better than when my daughter played though.
