If Phil Jackson was never born, Who would of been best coach for the 90s Bulls Teams and why??.....Keep same Bulls rosters.
Only pick 90s era coach.

I would take Pat Riley..
Main reason would have to be the way he handled superstars and I can see Michael Jordan and Scottie buying into him...Plus going into the 90s, Riley had a nice ring collection that would also demand respect..Pat worshiped defense...
Ill even go as far as saying that Pat could of coached the Bulls into 6 championships with same Bulls rosters..as well...This is my opinion...What is yours?....Mind Bender ain't it??

I agree about Collins. The only issue was he didn't buy into the triangle like Jackson, and more importantly, Krause did.

true...but...I guess what I was getting at is, your grandma's pool instructor could've been the coach of the 90's Bulls and would've won.

I'm not sure it's accurate, and I'm not even sure I agree w/ it...but that was the point I was trying to make.

I agree...Doug Collins or Phil Collins...they would have won 1 or 2 at least because of Jordan and Pippen.

Collins was too much of a spaz. He was a good coach for the Bulls when they were young, but eventually Jordan and Co. tuned Collins out. They needed to switch to Jackson because the players were getting sick of Collins.

This is probably true. In the pro's the best coach is often the one whose ego is bigger than the players' egos. Bilicheck...Jackson/Riley...etc. Gotta make sure the team is listening to one voice.

Pat Riley was a winner with star quality himself...His teams gave the Bulls the best challenges in the 90s..If Not for Jordan,Pippen and the Bulls, he Knocks would of been the team of the 90s.................If not Pat, I would ake Rudy Tomjonavich..."never underestimate the heart of a champion"....

I really don't think the Knicks would have been the team of the 90's. In the early 90's, they gave the Bulls problems but they were a veteran team. They had old guys like Derek Harper and Xavier McDaniel playing big minutes. Their zenith was 1994, and they still lost to a rather pedestrian Rockets team (outscored by Vernon Maxwell?) in the Finals. I doubt those early 90's Knicks teams would have beat a good Blazers or Suns team in the Finals.

But but but but but, the knicks were contenders every single year until 99...am I wrong???
I still feel that Pat Riley would be the best coach if it wasn't for Phil Jackson...just my humble opinion...Please don't report me now...LoL...thanks..:beerbang:

The answer would be Gregg Popovich or Jerry Sloan. They are as good coaches as Phil Jackson in my book anyway.

I like Gregg and Jerry, but I feel that Pat Riley would be best fit for Jordan PiP and Rodman...This may sound corny, but for some reason, Pat seems like a Chicago kind of guy...Plus, if Riley was part of Bulls as a coach in the 90s, he probabely would be the general manager of the Bulls right now...and id take him over paxgar. He has balls of steal and paxgar seem like there nuts were chopped:shrug: off at times...

I also think the Bulls would have won a couple of titles in the 90's just because MJ/Pippen an co were that good..

but they wouldn't have won 6. Phil is a genius when it comes to keeping the team together and managing big egos. Not only that, MJ respected the hell out of him. If MJ didn't buy into the coach, the team probably wouldn't have.

I agree....I'm juat saying if there was no phil jackson, Pat Riley would of had a chance to win multiple titles with players like Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen...

oh, well I wasn't really replying to anyone... I was just throwing that out there hahaha.

But yeah, Pat Riley could have won a few titles with MJ and Pippen.

I'm just not sure he would have coached the Bulls... but who knows haha
