No, the next head coach doesn’t need to specialize in offense and Ben Johnson isn’t the only answer

Sorry but my man @DaaBears is right! Yall way too focused on the offense and the next hot thing like we did Nagy. I hope the bears actually do their due diligence and hires a coach who has time management skills for once and knows how to assemble a staff
Are you excited about the pending Marcus Freeman hire?

To some. I was on here all last year saying that people should look at the games Love was successful and notice it was mostly because his WR's were absolutely wide open and all he had to do was put the ball in the vicinity and they would go catch it and run into the end zone. Now that's not to say he didn't also have some tight coverage throws to but most of his big plays his WR's were as open as you could get.
that's the difference between him a nd Williams, he was accurate with those passes, Williams isn't

Thought this was a good write up with basic info on some of the coaches out there. Obviously not everyone will agree with the order but I would interview a lot of these guys if it were me
That's pretty much the list that every team will pick and choose from on who will be their next HC.

I know this isn't a popular one but Kellen Moore intrigues the hell out of me.

I'm talking about a whole different kind of wide open. The GB guys were so wide open that Love could put the ball up and they could slow down or even stop to wait for the ball to get to them.

You need to calculate a percentage as there are more offensive HC than defensive. Also Tomlim isna defensive HC. Finally this ignores Pete Carroll and Bellichick who are in that 3-7 year window and had a lot of success as defensive HCs.
How about just the shitty bears coaches

Fluberbus and Fox : defensive hc (awful)

Trestman and BHVWGHC: offensive hc (one nerd had chance as playoffs in week 18 other had 2 playoff appearances and winning record)

It's not rocket science

Pair your qb with an offensive hc and the defense can be changed/fixed year to year if needed

Pair your qb with a defensive guy and once the offensive guy has success he leaves and your qb starts over

My favorite is watching you, years later, still trying to make your alphabet soup a thing.

Do the Bears -have- to hire an offensive HC? Technically no.

But they sure as hell need to hire someone that has an actual, executable plan for an NFL offense that maximizes Caleb Williams' talent. Preferably one that Caleb can be in for more than just a year or two.

And I just don't see any of the defensive coaches having a plan that lasts more than a year or two for anything better than a mediocre offense. I just don't see another Tom Moore being available for a defensive HC to hire and let him run an offense for years to come.

For that matter, I hope whoever they hires has a really good plan for a new OL coach as well.

That said - hard not to be absoutely black-pilled on the Bears right now.

The reason why people were in on Ben Johnson, because with all the rumors floating around, it would have been the first time it seemed like the Bears had a PLAN - and now we are back to a bunch of the same twisting in the wind shit.

Sure, the Bears can get lucky, like they did with Lovie Smith - and that luck got us 3 Playoff appearances in what - 8 years?

Nagy never called plays. Nagy was in charge of anything

I think that,if the offer is good enough to get @Montucky off and buy out of his his current couch rental, he should be the next bears hc. He was able to identify the talent gap with Justin Fields in year 3 and now ready to cut bait on CW before his season is over. Also some GM duties because he got on the Brock Bowers train by the middle of his rookie nfl season, and I'm really passionate still about Brock.

Has to change name to @MANtucky

Otherwise yes, so long as Jim Caldwell is out.
