My favorite teams
I appreciate Noah's effort, but as mentioned, we probably won't get Melo because we'd have to trade away almost everybody to clear room for him. That's assuming we bring over Mirotic.
We could try it, but it would be extremely risky. If Melo turns us down, we'd be left with Rose, Mirotic, Noah, maybe still either Butler or Snell, a couple of players we draft and that's it.
Sure, we'd still have a lot of money to fill out our roster with other free agents, but unless we land one of the superstars that could opt out of their contract, we'll still be a 2nd or third round team at best. At that point, we'd have to hope Mirotic and our draft picks ind up being really good.
Either way.... I feel like Melo will stay in NY. While I do think he wants to win, I think more money in a larger market playing for his childhood team is more appealing to him.
