Here's what I know of said incident:

Scary thought about this, but I actually have a friend that actually knows the couple involved. That's what you get for knowing the more... "punkish" crowd, so to speak....

Anywho, the item used is known in circles as a "fucking machine".... I swear to God that's what its called. There's quite a number of porn films that use this device, but people use their own motorized devices to however they want. It's a vibrating device that has a dildo attached to it.

From what I was told, Faith's (that's her name) fiance was the one who took care of the device, and it didn't last that long.... no more than a minute. The news also backs that truth up....

It did, however bring a lot of kids to the front of the class....

The professor himself, from all the NU students and alumni I know and spoke with on the matter, has a bit of a reputation for going a bit extreme.... This was, by far the most extreme he's ever gone. He's done some other soft core stuff in the past, but this "class" per se was done after hours, so it was optional for people to go....

One alumnus I spoke with actually wrote this to me on said matter....

"Oh northwestern had a lot more controversy than that when I was there. Oh J Michael Bailey, how you entertained.

Hell I took a course there that ended up with my professor being on the o'Reilly factor. It was a film course about the history... of sex on film, ie pornography. Yea, we sat and watched porn.

So apparently, this is nothing new at Northwestern...

What makes me wonder about this, though is.... what was funnier... The fact it was actually done, or the fact that this was done at a private institution with the reputation that it has?

I think there are a lot of people pissed off that it happened at such a prestigious house o' knowledge. They need to kindly shut the **** up.

Again, I applaud those involved. Human sexuality is just that....human. College is where you go to learn about stuff even GASP!!!! sexual stuff. Things you wouldn't otherwise learn about.

I hate this puritanical society.

Really? I must not have gone to the right college.

I have no problem with what transpired, but also understand those that may.

I agree had this been some smaller University you'd have never heard about it. I also don't pay the 40k per year to have my child attend the school. If I did then my opinion would be more valid directly because of that.

If it was completely voluntary and optional, I don't understand the argument of "This is what I'm paying my kid's tuition for?" Well it isn't, he/she didn't have to attend. So it pretty much just is people that wouldn't go to it in the first place not liking that it even happened.

If the Alumni think this stuff is shocking, then they should be glad their kids don't go to IU.

I don't understand the people that have the problem. Even the parents. "OH, precious little Joey...." let me stop you right fucking there. You little kid is now an adult. Yes, you are paying for his education, and as such, maybe you should pay attention to the classes he is taking. If you want to keep you child sheltered forever, then tell him he can't take a human sexuality class. Don't them go to a college. Don't let them leave the house. Shield their eyes when boobs appear in a movie.

Again, it was a voluntary demonstration. Your little bastard didn't have to go to it. In fact, an overwhelming majority didn't. God forbid an adult see something sexual.

Thats the whole thing here, theres a whole line of OPTIONAL going down the list.

A. College is an OPTIONAL education level, the state isnt forcing it on anyone.

B. The class is OPTIONAL and not required.

C. The seminar or whatever you want to call it was also OPTIONAL.

Online in news article sections I keep seeing people saying look whats being "forced" upon our children. Nobody forced anything on anyone. If this was some sort of highschool health class that they did this, it would be painfully illegal and inappropriate and parents would have every right to gather the torches and pitchforks.

Agreed!

What would make this incident even funnier, though, is if this happened at BYU. That would be the funniest scandal of a lifetime!

There's a good discussion on this topic on the homebrewing forums.

It was pretty normal until a guy showed up that somehow ties this event to activist judges, an "ivory tower" educational system, radical islam, sharia law, and the general downfall of western civilization.

Where's Fluff? You guys are all too fucking level headed around here.

Even Jax and IHF! They're good guys too even though I usually disagree with them.

You know thats what I dont get. not too get this too off topic, but both sides of the political coin do the same thing. Somehow one thing sets off a chain of events that may even be contrary to eachother, leading to either nazi slave camps or making people be *** or sharia law or whatever.

i.e. People participate in sexual activity on stage at a college -> Sharia law. So how exactly does doing something you'd get your head chopped off for under sharia law contribute to its establishment? people are fucking nuts.

Could have left it that.
