Mayor Bloomberg has banned all restaurants, movie theaters, sporting events from selling pops larger than 16 oz. He says giving people smaller options will reduce sugar intake and lower health costs. But many are saying this is a massive government intrusion. I just think it is moronic.

I say don't stop there. Get rid of all branded swag. Not just formula crap. No more free advertising in city owned hospitals. Or, if they want to flood a hospital with adverts, how about have them pick up 50% of the cost of procedures and such to help lighten the financial burden on the users of the hospitals.

A major city over here just made the following things illegal

amount of bird feeders, bird seed you can have on your own property

selling art supplies to minors (under 19)

allowing minors to use tanning salons (under 19)

Products containing shark fin

privately breeding dogs and cats (so anybody who is a breeder is now breaking the law)



The city of Toronto (5 mil population) also just banned grocery stores, or any store to provide or even have plastic bags for customers.



So I'm still jealous of your freedoms.
