My guess is it was some kind of habits or personality or disciplinary thing they handled in house. Everyone knew Nylander needed a change of scenery, and its possible we just didn't know that Joker needed one for whatever reason.
It's a tale of two coaches and their differing assessment of a 19yro D-man....
Q was a tough 'jury' with young players but he really liked the Joker and had him skatin 1st pair minutes with Keith to start the year. I never thought I'd ever hear Q utter the term "giddy" but that was exactly what he said when asked about the youngster's play before he got the boot 15 games in.
Fast Forward to the wit and wisdom of Jeremy Colliton and the same youngster saw his minutes cut and a few healthy scratches before his demotion........he also said something about the 190lb kid "not having a man body" while playing the 166lb Sikura on JT's line.
The FO floated a 'bad attitude' balloon about the 19yro(how classy)after the trade because the kid wasn't crazy about being sent down and watching Manning,Forsling and Davidson get his NHL minutes.......are any of those three even in the league any more?
Q didn't see this 'bad attitude' and neither did the Finn national coach on his way to a WC title and a very demanding Ralph Krueger played the 20yro D-man in all of em last year......maybe Colliton's just a better coach than the other three guys.
