Oduya gets three-year extension

Per Twitter.

Don't know what to say just yet because I haven't seen what his cap hit will be. He was real good in the final month of the season but slipped a bit in the postseason.

I'm sure Capt. Serious is thrilled.

This could be interesting ....

My understanding is Oduya took cut from $3.5 million salary he had in exchange for multiple yrs (3) #Blackhawks

Garbage ass. :deer:
I think its a solid move barring that it doesn't knock the Blackhawks out of the Suter sweepstakes.

Keith/Seabrook

Hjalmersson/Odyua

Leddy/??

lol @ Joe

Anyway, if he took a pay cut, we could still have cap space for the proposed sign-and-trade (if that is the same thing) where we get Suter and Staal for Bolland and Hjalmarrson.

I like Oduya, solid move.

If they got Oduya down to the 2 or 2.5 million mark, I don't think this is that bad of a move.

If the Hawks continue to believe that Leddy is ready for a 2nd D pairing role, this move could signal that Hjalmarsson is on his way out of town this summer.

Dewey will have to chime in on this, as I am not sure what average is, but he did have a 0.4 OPS and 2.4 DPS for a 2.8 PS this year.

I agree with you on this, but us getting staal not a chance.

ticket prices have nothing to do with it...there is still the salary cap the hawks have to maneuver within...they cant raise prices to sign people. salary cap is salary cap
