Damn. He was the first truly great middle linebacker I was able to witness. Sucks to see him go but this is definitely the right call for him and his family.
Pretty much yeah. When I was little Bears games would always be on but I had no idea what was going on except we rooted for the Bears. When I started actively following the Bears I was like 13 or 14.You were around when Urlacher played..... were you too young to really appreciate it?
I've watched football since I was like 8 or 9 and definitely didn't understand or appreciate great players until I was like 15 or 16

I've seen clips of that game but never actually watched it in total. Sucks that Urlacher never got his ring when comparable players like Ray Lewis got 2 simply because he played for a better franchise. You should watch the 2006 MNF game Bears @ Cards if you haven't.
Urlacher and the defense owned that game... it was a good display of how good Urlacher could be in his prime.
And you get to see a Hester return TD to win the game.
Fast fwd thru all Bears offensive possessions.

I normally hate watching old games but this would be a good one.
He was one more concussing away from being CCS stoopid. Good move to save his brane.
Better athlete...??Arguably a better athlete than Urlacher. The guy got his bell rung more than Note Dame...hope it doesn't come back to destroy him later on in life.
