I am glad they did not rule that targeting at the end there. That would have been an awful, borderline call to make.
If that it happened in the 2nd quarter, would you think it was targeting? If so, the ref cannot change the rules due to timing.

It was the definition of targeting.

In real time, I did not see any sort of foul. So, imo, it was not the definition of targeting. It was not that obvious. IMO, the question only came in to play when they slow it down to frame by frame, when one moving person is trying to hit another moving person, and one is trying to nitpick something that happens at full speed.

I will admit that I personally hate the entire rule as written by college football to also make it an automatic ejection. For that alone, imo, it has to be completely obvious and no doubt whatsoever to make that call at any point in the game.

DE JT TUIMOLOAU is a monster. He had one of the best games I've ever seen from DE earlier in the season with like 3 sacks two FFs, a scoop and score, a pick six and another int lol
