The play of the game was the dropped pass by the Bengal receiver on 3rd down late in the 4th quarter
We don’t caresorry Mick, have to disagree
Nothing I’ve said has been wrong. You’re cheering on the Rams because of Stafford and Stafford only got this far because of the Super team he is on. If you think his super bowl performance was impressive it shows how low your bar really isIt must suck to have to differ when all your hot takes are made to look foolish.
Arm punt wasn't too punishing but how it happened made it bad. Waved his guy deep and then underthrew it by 2 yards. missed opportunity that without the phantom calls was enough to lose that game. One interception was nothing more than a 3rd down punt. Take a shot, wtf.
The other was clearly on the receiver,
context.
So yes, was a good game, all things considered.
Rams D totally shut Bengals down in second half consistently giving Rams the ball in great field position which they did nothing with until the final drive. Aaron Donald should have received MVP. If he don't take over that game when he did, they are way behind and no way of coming back.
For a game in which very little was called, it sure left one with the feeling that the NFL wanted LA to win.
Maybe that's not the case, but it sure left that impression.
I don't actually think it was too egregious, but it was a bad look.
that TD wasn’t that late in the game, when the bengals had a goal line stand during LAs final drive that kept being offset by penalties is what people are mainly talking aboutSo they wanted LA to win but didnt calll OPI on the Higgins TD? Makes sense.
If you don’t think that was the impression left at the end of the game you’re one of the few who doesn’t think so. Kyle Brandt on NFL network good morning football just discussed the same thing , that you couldn’t help but come away from that game thinking they wanted that game for LA.So they wanted LA to win but didnt calll OPI on the Higgins TD? Yes the call earlier in the game was missed as was the holding against the Cincinnati receiver on their first scoring drive when they settled for three.
He was clearly having his jersey pulled. calls get missed. we get that.
but on that last drive call after call after call really left the impression with almost everyone that I have heard from that they wanted LA to win that game.
The holding in the end zone? Absolutely the right call. Two others? Very iffy.
Just unfortunate because whether or not they evened out it wasn’t the best look.
Nobody is claiming that the only factors that impacted the outcome were one or two calls. Nobody is saying that. That missed call is the only reason the Bengals were up late.
Yes people whine all the time. The fact is there were egregious calls on both teams. Both teams had a chance to overcome them. One team did and the other did not. Bengals had 3 plays to get one yard and couldnt do it. They had 2nd and 1, 3rd and 1, and 4th and 1 and gained zero yards. That is why they lost.
That to me is annoying, be fucking consistent with calls otherwise people will start believing shit is riggedI don't think the refs were out to keep the Rams drive alive at all. I just think that they finally started calling penalties the last two minutes of the game. Maybe told to not turn the game into a penalty fest but make the calls in crunch time.
The not calling of offensive pass interference was insane and total game changer.

But to say “we’re sorry you got screwed, but you got the ball back with 1:25, so you had a chance to overcome it”, is quite an interesting take.
