The lunch-pale-and-hardhat mentality meshes well with a group of mostly young guys that collectively aren't as talented as at least 3/4 of the other teams in the league. That's why i've always got the feeling that this season, we're going to win some games that we probably shouldn't, cause the team will just play hard with that chip on their shoulder. It'll remain to be seen how Eberflus eventually does with a team that's one of the more talented and higher paid rosters in the league; will they tune him and his HITS philosophy out?

Dejo, many thanks to you and for others for your news updates, and thank you to your parents for that happy moment in the proverbial back-seat of the Chevy that sent you our way.

I think Poles will be very selective with his high paid players once he has that luxury, seeking out highly self motivated types, i.e., Mooneys over Antonio Browns, Fields' over Kyler Murrays.
I think the philosophy is front office wide not just Flus. Poles said as much last week.

"His NFL dream ended at final cuts, but what resonated with Poles then — and what stuck with him long afterward — is how the Bears practiced under then-coach Lovie Smith.

'The relentlessness, the finish — there would be balls that would be tipped and go to the other field and all 11 would be sprinting to it, picking it up and running to the end zone,” Poles said. “There was a purpose. There’s a standard for how they practiced.'

It’s how Poles, the Bears’ first-year general manager, wants his team to look today. It’s what attracted him to coach Matt Eberflus, an extension of the Tony Dungy/Smith coaching tree through Eberflus’ time with former Dungy/Smith assistant Rod Marinelli in Dallas.

'It’s not even really an offense-defense thing' Poles said. 'It’s really a demand to do things the right way. And I think from there, you can build that foundation and grow from that. That’s important.' "

Worked for Lovie with HOFers, I think his message will resonate just fine.

Yep, that's important for any coach. I'm not saying you can just throw accountability by the wayside, but what separates the good coaches from the bad is how they're able to balance that with bigger personalities over time while also not becoming stale in message and/or scheme. We're far from seeing how Flus handles that.

D. Robinson needs a lot more snaps on Sunday.
I think you will get your wish. But he's on the radar now. It was already going to be a run-heavy game (with it being the Packers and it being in the rain), but expect a lot of sweeps and off-tackle runs to right by the Packers big-assed running backs (who may weigh more than he does).
