The good ones throw their WR's open and can let the ball go when it needs to go which is two more things Fields has issues with.

Think this was actually supposed to be double curls but ESB changed the route to a vert because the CB was squatting. Pettis was first read so when Fields looks to ESB he is surprised he is running a vert and hesistates which then allows the S to cover ground. Cant throw that pass late. If ESB was first read he probably pulls the trigger.
Edit - Sorry saw a later post notes it was supposed to be a curl.

Just listened to the eberflus presser and it sounds like esb changed his route on that play, fields obviously missed it.
Fields didn’t play well but it’s hard to create chemistry with a brand new WR when you have 10 throws a game, in the 2nd game of a brand new offense, 2nd year into the league.
Hopefully it improves, does make me feel better that it wasn’t the design of the play though.

Season still has to be played. Both teams are 1 and 1 and Bears have played better teams.

Yeah this highlights there is a lot we dont know and just assuming. So as critical as I am in saying Fields needs to get rid of the ball and as critical as others are of the talent, sometimes it is as simple as these guys dont have enough time together to get on same page.
