Looks like you can kiss the pipe dream of Tallon coming back goodbye. Also, if someone is going to make prejudiced comments conduct themselves in a racist manner, you think they would have enough common sense or intelligence not to make those kins of remarks in the public square.

I think they should bring back Crow for a resonable 2 year deal. would he go for 4 per year over 2 years ?

My response to that poster was his take on doing a complete teardown while signing a 36 year old goalie. Can't have one without the other. Complete teardown means you go all in and sell the house. Worked well for the Cubs (Theo landed multiple top 5, top 10 draft picks), paying dividends for the present day White Sox when they unloaded Sale, Quintana, and the Blackhawks back in the day landing back to back #1 and #3 draft picks.

OR

You can go partial tear down every year (remember when they signed D'Wayne Wade) and become the Bulls....
Hockey is not baseball. In hockey you do need some vets, even if they are interim vets, to help the kids move forward--see my post about the vets our current core had. That doesn't mean loading up to the point of mediocrity--not in the least. What it does mean is that you have vet players in backup positions for mentorship. So in the case of a goalie--you have a 35-36 year old Crawford who maybe starts out at 50-odd games a year in the 1st yeart of his new deal while the 'hawks identify a successor, but at the end of it he's a 20-game backup. Ditto on D. Someone like Keith should be there to help whoever is tapped as our next top D-man out, but at some point that5 as-yet unidentified player needs to be getting the lion's share of the starts and Keith is there as a middle or bottom pair guy.

You also have to consider the NMC's. Right now Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook have them and Keith's is a double-whammy of a recapture-risk. They could possibly be moved if they waive but with the stagnant cap we aren't getting anywhere near as-good back. We might as well keep them as the vets to bring the other guys along when they prove they are no longer capable of handling the load.
2 for three years, or 3 for two years hopefully.
My take exactly...and no NMC!

I never expected him back anyway.

That said, pretty surprising. I'd like to hear the full story before jumping to any conclusions.
