I seem to remember Iowa would never lose their first game in the tournament they had a very long streak of winning their first, so if they have not made it to Sweet 16 in 21 years they must literally go one and one every year when they make it. Unless that streak of winning the first game is farther back than I realize.

98-99 under Tom Davis. They had Jess Settles and Dean Oliver that year. I loved those guys.

Steve Alford had some solid teams, but always got bounced in the first/second round. The 05-06 team was a 3 seed and lost on a last second 3 (IIRC) to Northwestern State lol. That team had Hulaska, Horner and Brunner if you remember any of them.

Settles was never the same after his injury. Didnt the 2005 team have Davis? They almost beat Illinois on their home floor. If I remember correctly, Luther Head won that game for the Illini

Edit: wrong year and I was thinking of Pierce

Ahhh Pierre Pierce that takes me back. Dude was awesome, but could not stay out of trouble.

Luka Garza today is showing as much interest in rebounding as I show in doing ballet.

In 36 minutes, he has grabbed one. He spent time on the bench in the first half with two fouls, but has played close to 30 minutes.

Yeah, Fran did his usual post-game attack on the media for daring to ask questions.

Iowa has lost 4 of its last 5, with the lone win a squeaker at home vs terrible Mich State.

And of course, it is all the fault of refs and media.

Iowa doing their normal late season skid. Happens every year that Fran has a good team.

It's hard to believe Michigan actually moved up to #3 in the AP poll considering they haven't played in a couple of weeks and are avoiding a game they could play against Illinois.

Nice to see Mizzou get smoked tonight. They've won a lot. Tonight was definitely their worst game - and actually first bad game.

21 point loss to Ole Miss.

Player of The First Half of The Year, Luka Garza with 8 points on 3-11 shooting. 2-7 FTs. Single digits in rebounds.

Not sure about Michigan. They are definitely a top team, but they haven’t played several of the top Big Ten teams yet. We will have that answer in a few weeks.

I think this year has a Big10 team in the final four.

I'm rooting for Iowa and Michigan. That's of course if my Terps can't do any damage.

Was nice to see Iowa pull off that win and actually look good. Year after year, they start the season hot and just fizzle out and never compete with teams they should.
