Well i recorded the game and just watched it(stuck at work all day). Man, that game was tough to watch. Ive never been so emotional over a game 1 ever! It was a real ugly win but i honestly dont think the Pacers will play like that again. A loss like that just takes the wind out of a teams sails. They were on such a high. Hansbrough couldnt miss, everyone was draining 3s, they were monsters on the offensive glass. All of the things we did right defensively during the season, we werent doing right today.

Once i saw that Noah and1 on the fastbreak, i knew we were going to win the game. That was just one of those plays that completely kills momentum for the other team and gets the crowd and team alive.

Rose once again late in games showed his clutchness, not only as a scorer but as a facilitator. That Korver 3 had that Jordan to Kerr feel to it. Im still not happy with all of his 3 attempts games after game. What happened to the mid range J? He was money with that shot for like a year and a half. 0-7 from 3 is not going to help us. I say 0-7 because two of them were half court buzzer beater attempts.

Boozer was just plain awful. That foul on Hansbrough late in the game was just plain dumb. He was getting dumped on all game. He has no lift in his step. He just cant put it down anymore. The offensive fouls, the lack of defense and now offensively hes struggling. Im not looking forward to 4 more years of this. I really hope we can move him and someone for Howard(flavor of the month trade hype).

I do love the energy our guys had late in the game. When shots were made it seems like everyone was pumping their fists. Like mentioned, Deng seemed revved up. He needs to play better BTW. My favorite play was probably the 2 Noah blocks to end the game. I loved his reaction when it was all said and done. Brewer went crazy, Deng was fist pumping. I thought it was hilarious that kurt Thomas was holding back Noah. But notice the two players who kept their composure after those blocks? Veteran Kurt Thomas and MVP Derrick Rose.

Happy with a win, not happy with the overall product on the court. Im sure it will get better and that that was a real wake up call for our guys.

I kind of mentioned this in another thread. Id trade Boozer and Asik. Hopefully, theyll see a 20/10 PF and not what youre talking about. Id throw in Asik who is a cheap, young up and coming Center too. Then Id move Noah to PF.

PG- Rose
SG- Brewer
SF- Deng
PF- Noah
C- Howard

This would be a nice lineup.

I think one of the things that isnt getting enough attention was how Noah emerged as a productive player once again when the playoffs started. Thats one guy you dont have to worry about in the playoffs. It's somewhat pleasing that the foundational players (ie Rose and Noah) came up big today, just has theyve done pretty much done every year theyve been in the playoffs.

Hopefully, they put off a vibe that rubs off on Boozer.

Another thing: Bogans was non-existent today.

After the Bulls beat the Magic in Chicago, Jameer Nelson told Derrick Rose I'll see you in round two. After one game against the Hawks I wonder how that's working out for him?

It wasn't all bad. People need to realize that the Pacers are capable of playing well. They killed the Lakers at one point this season. Today we saw their A game and still won. They shot over 50% from 3 while Chicago shot 30% from three.

The good news is that Noah came up big today. It seems like you never have to worry about that guy showing up in the playoffs. I hope playing next to Rose and Noah will rub off on Boozer.

"Total FT attempts today with all 4 teams playing equally hard: 71 (Miami/Chicago), 32 (Indy/Philly). That's embarrassing."- Bill Simmons

The top quote has nothing to do with the bottom.

BTW, you should also stop crying about the free throws. You should have two flagrants called. Rose was attacking the basket more than your whole team. Spare us the nonsense about both teams are playing equally hard, therefore they should get the same amount of FTs. In the end, settling for jumpers might have been your undoing since you came back to earth as far as hitting jumpers were concerned.

I didn't see any Pacers players driving or attacking the basket at ALL.

When Rose drives he gets a whole lot of contact. This isn't like other superstars who get grazed and get the foul call. Rose has been screwed many times by noncalls so now he makes sure to leave doubt out of it, he gets the contact and a lot of it. Plus it makes up for some of the major bs calls that were or werent called for or against our bigs.

I love how he got to the line 21 times, I remember earlier in the season he couldn't get a call to save his fucking life.

Yeah look at his FT #s the past month or so, he's been getting to the line a bunch. I
Expect this trend to continue.

One of the things thats annoying about Hansbrough is how he plays defense so spastically. He fouls a lot more than he gets called for but when someone fouls him, its a different story. It's like the refs respect how he plays because thats what they would have to do if they were him at 6'9" with modest athlteicism.

Hansbrough is like some spastic savant.

Watching the Magic game after, I was thinking how nice it would be to have Horford as a PF.

I know Booz can get his, but his atrocious ass D had me wondering after the game if management would think of trading him down the road.

Psycho T was hitting js like was Karl Malone today.

Yeah, Carlos' biggest attribute to the team may be that he's a team player who understands his role. He tries on defense, he just sucks at it. He's out of position too much and too short to guard a lot of 4's/5's in the paint...but he's bought in to the system as much as anyone has, imo...or he wouldn't be playing.
