Looking at a Honda Shadow
Those are nice,I always liked em, but they're kinda small..If youre over 6' tall, I'd pass and look at a softail deluxe
edit.
Shit, I just looked em both up...They both have the same seat height and wheelbase..Only difference is engine size, weight, and price....Parked next to each other, the Honda looks smaller, but it's not...carry on

Being my first bike trying get something a little more cost effective...I found a Shadow I like in the price range I am looking at...but still waiting on the guy to get back to me (deal was in place but the guy couldn't find the title at his house, so waiting for him to let me know when he has it). Was looking around today and found a Yamaha V-Star 650 for less than the shadow I was looking at. Right now its a toss up between the two, my wallet is telling me to go with the Yamaha.
The price difference between the Shadow and the Softail Deluxe is huge..If you dont mind having the 750 vs a 1600,Id go for the Shadow or even that Yamaha..I'm not familiar with the Yamaha, but I have owned Hondas in the past...They were always good bikes
If you get up here, make sure ya hit the mountains in western NC..Should be fun for you guysI think after I get a little more experienced on a bike I will look at something nicer like a Harley or even a Shadow Phantom. But definitely getting geared up to start riding. You probably get similar weather as I do here (ours may be more humid) and as you know during the spring and fall it is great riding weather. Me and my buddy are planning some rides down to NC and a little north around Philly to go to a few famous restaurants and pig out on some good food.

lol....They are both welcome for a BBQ
Doing some pulled pork this weekend. Making a nice mustard/vinegar based sauce for it.NC BBQ is the main reason for the trip.
