Exercise does give you more energy...just not right after you do it lol. When you're more out of shape you do feel more tired/sore during the next couple days but in general I think you do get a boost.Just an update, with walking to and from the gym and doing my training on Friday and today I have done two 5k's now. Right around 42 min. The goal is to increase the running and decrease the walking in between now. I feel pretty good but those that say exercise will give you more energy must be smoking something. I am dead tired.

lol yeah day of you're gonna feel tired...that is what happens when you exercise, especially running. If you make regular exercise the norm though, I think you'll notice the difference. For me I did the run at 6 am, it's 1:20 and I could sleep for the night.

It takes a couple months for the changes to really be noticeable imo. Once you're somewhat in shape though, you'll definitely be able to tell when you're not in shape. The fatigue and recovery period changes a lot...or at least for me it does.Certainly noticed my legs ache a bit less. I am looking forward to doing it again tomorrow too

Distance running is all about pushing through the pain...so my runner friends tell me. I've seldom heard of people running 3 5ks in a week, but if that's something you can handle without hating yourself, I suppose that whatever works, works. That would be nice. I think my run with my daughter is in May so if I can do a 5 k three times a week and then improve my time down to 37 min I'd be more than happy.

I think it's about time I got a haircut...
That sounds like a power walk to me, but I assume you're doing a run/walk split right? My BIL does it daily. My goal is to do it at 5 MPH pace, so nothing that someone would say WOW, but better than 4 MPH walking rate of 47 min.
My HS math teacher used to make this joke all the time.get them all cut while you are at it.

"Did you get your haircut Mr. Math teacher?"
"Actually, I got them all cut"

My HS pre-Calc Math teacher spent an entire year talking shit about how if we ever played Halo he would destroy me.... he challenged me to bring my Xbox in on our last day so we could play on the projector.... I called him on it and brought it in.... he had never played Halo before in his life.... was some of the funniest (Stuff) I've ever seen in my life.
