Cashner is just going through a lack-of-confidence phase, I think. He's normally got good heat and solid control. This is just a rough patch. He'll spring back here shortly.

Let's put it this way. In order, here are the RP I would want in first: Marmol, Marshall, Cashner, Berg, Russell, Coleman and Atkins. The last 2, can go either way. So, Berg is four.

Silva had minor heart surgery today and was release from hospital. He will start throwing sometime next week.

Derrek lee is not in San Fran, he's stayed home to be with his ailing grandmother No word on how many games he will miss.

The Cubs sent down P Mitch Atkins and called up P Marcos Mateo from Triple A.

I don't know what he is. He's short arming the throw. I know some has to do with the switch but not all.
