Kinda interesting fact I heard at the end of last night's game was that the Tribe has won just 21 games this season with 8 of those wins (38%) coming against the Sox.
Something I read last night while not belonging in this thread doesn't merit its own thread. Ozzie was not the first manager to ticket a player back to the minors for ineffectively throwing at a history. Boston Brave manager Casey Stengel once sent a pitcher down for not having the guts to deck Pee Wee Reese.
Not only the pitcher but his father didn't easily forget what happened. Years later, 1957, before the World Series Stengel was walking through a New York hotel lobby:
My grandpa so him and threw him up against the wall. He said " Now what do you think of my son? You think he has enough guts to play in the major leagues?" . . .My dad and a few other guys had to pull my grandfather off of him.
Memories in baseball being short Stengel and the pitcher later became friends and he pitched for Stengel when Stengel managed the Mets.
BTW -- the pitcher's name was neither "Sain" nor "Rain."
