These are all professional hitters. The only people who are marginally "young" are Beckham and Morel. I really don't think anyone else has an excuse.

Fire Walker if you want, I could care less, but if you want to look at the problem, look at Kenny Williams for assembling a group that leads off with Juan Pierre and can barely hit and look at Ozzie for beind the head coach that can't motiviate and makes a lot of poor decisions.

I'm sure there will be a few Kenny apologists, but his decisions have been poor at best.

apologists? no, realists. When it comes to assembling a team with the budget we are on, I will take KW all day long.

you do realize that alot of teams would love to have the lineup the sox have put together right?

They are 10-15, in last place in the division, and their starting pitching has been very solid.

On paper, the lineup looks above average. On the field, the lineup has been absolutely pathetic aside from the first week of the season.

I'd rather have a team perform on the field then on paper.

My point is how can you be so against Ozzie or Walker but think KW is a good GM? The team that he has put on the field is severely underperforming. Blame should go to everyone responsible, not just a scapegoat.

see statistics on ozzies in game managing, read everything and it will change your tune.

i do blame kenny, for not firing ozzie and not bringing in a baseball mind who plays AL style baseball and not NL. so i do blame him for that

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Toledo Rockets

You kind of contradict yourself here. Kenny built a pretty good team, on paper, that's his job, and on paper the Sox look pretty damn good.

Ozzie is the "leader" if you will of that team and the team always under performs under Ozzie (sans 2005, first half of 2006, and that hot streak last summer). The only exception I really give him is 2004 when we lost Frank and Maggs and had absolutely no talent. When the talent isn't there then its one thing when the team losses, but for year and after year Kenny usually puts a lot of talent on the team, and what do Ozzie and Walker have to show for it? 2 playoff appearances, albiet a World Series, but that can't save Ozzie forever.

True enough.

But Clayton Richards sure would look good now. I can't really blame him for letting go fatty Bartolo, but hey, we can second guess GM's moves. The money spent on Peavy is crazy. Overspent for Dunn. Completely wasted money on Manny last year, and I know we only paid a portion of his salary (around $5 million, I believe). That loss of money is huge, when going into this season Reinsdorf has said that if attendance doesn't improve, he is going to stop pouring more money into the team.

Does Ozzie and/or Walker deserve most of the blame? Sure, but I don't understand how KW doesn't deserve criticism himself.

Really? it is so easy to back peddle on deals. magglio and Carlos Lee would have looked good staying in a sox uniform in 05, but we got pods and luis V.

overspent for Dunn? cmon now.

like anyone knew there would be a resurgence of bartolo colon, we will see how long that lasts.

how about joe borchard for thornton? fail right? because he isnt doing good this year?

how about humber to be a stop gap?

bobby jenks in 05, dustin hermanson in 05?

Carlos Quentin is still a descent trade.

brandon mccarthy for masset and danks....that is a load of fail.

how about gavin floyd, he really sucks huh?

i mean come on....

He has no future here. His antics are tired and his act is stale.

Um, just because you say "i mean come on" or roll your eyes, doesn't make your point.

Yes, overspent on Dunn. He hasn't done shit except hit for .150. I hope that by the end of the year you can put him in the "KW Win Column" but for the money he is making... I doubt he becomes a .300 hitter over the last 3/4the year to raise his avg to .250, which is his norm. Jim Thome could easily be doing what Dunn is doing, for a lot cheaper.

Bobby Jenks was great in '05. Heavily declined year after year. Average at best. How many people have booed him over the past 2 years? A lot.

Gavin Floyd has yet to live up to his potential. True, it was for Garcia, but why did we eventually sign Garcia again?

Not really sure how you can defend Thornton at all at this point.

If Quentin can stay healthy, it was a good move, but he has yet to prove that.

Humber? Yet to be seen. He has one great start against NY, let's not annoint him yet.

As you said, Magglio, Carlos Lee.... Clayton Richards, giving up $5 mill for Manny, don't look so hot.

Some of the others, Danks/McCarthy especially, look great.

I don't think you understand what I am trying to say. I'm not saying he is are responsible for this horrible start as say, Ozzie or Walker. I'm not saying that at all. What I am saying is that he does deserve criticism. Because your only defense is to name some players and then say, "Come on...." I think you aren't really proving your point.

I think where we are not seeing eye to eye is you are in the NOW with the deals he made.

what did jenks do for us when we got him?

how was matt thornton since we have had him besides the first month of the season as a closer? with what you said do you take back the joe borchard trade?

the big mouth and his suspension should have been the icing on the cake for ozzie to be gone.

I will start blaming KW as well if he doesnt make a change.

he is one of the worst in game managers in baseball.
