The Tigers are looking for a corner outfielder. What about Kosuke? But it wouldn't be a bad contract swap. Det has no one. The Cubs would just have to pay salary.

The blog source waldo follows posted a rumor involving Byrd OR Fukudome, AND Ramirez FOR Ellsbury.

Waldo says Rami would approve a trade to Boston, I don't know where he saw that though.

Also spects coming to the Cubs and/or a 3rd team being involved. But, it's unlikely.

Also, I think Levine reported Rami would accept a trade to the RS.

I don't think it has any legs to it. I'm also pretty sure we'd HAVE to give up prospects too waldo.

I'm just afraid of blocking Brett Jackson. Might as well trade Byrd instead and move Colvin to 1st when he comes up.

You don't trade Kosuke if your forced to pay the whole contract...better off keeping the guy then paying 14 mill when hes gone.

And it makes it easier to get Jackson up and starting by trading Byrd instead of him.

He has more value than anyone else on this team and it is doubtful that he'll be the same player next year. He wasn't even good at the end of the season, he was just on fire for the whole first half.

Marlon Byrd tries harder then most players in the MLB that alone gets him a starting CF spot. He wont ever put up great stats just decent ones, and hopefully with some clutch performances. Hes a great guy all around and you cant find many guys who are similar.

Ya, we don't need to get Ellsbury, but I saying that IF we made this trade, then it may better to trade Byrd than Fukudome.

I honestly would never deal Byrd over Kosuke no matter what.

If Byrd is traded and Colvin's moved to first, Jackson could come up. That is all I'm basing this off of.

Yeah, he does try. You know who else tries? Ryan Theriot. Maybe we should get him back and start a team of scrappy ball players. It is nice to see Marlon's effort, but it's like you said, he's never going to put up great stats, just decent ones. If we can get 2 or 3 solid prospects for him, you do it.

I'd rather taken proven players over prospects. Marlon Byrd has proven himself to be a good MLB player. We know that we'll get an alright season out of him. With prospects, you have no clue what you're going to get.

You're right. But in a season where we aren't going to do much, we might as well plan for the future.
