Offseason thread, stay on topic.
The blog source waldo follows posted a rumor involving Byrd OR Fukudome, AND Ramirez FOR Ellsbury.
Waldo says Rami would approve a trade to Boston, I don't know where he saw that though.

You don't trade Kosuke if your forced to pay the whole contract...better off keeping the guy then paying 14 mill when hes gone.
They wont trade Byrd theres no sense in that whatsoever....Just hope someone can pay more then half of Kosukes contract.
He has more value than anyone else on this team and it is doubtful that he'll be the same player next year. He wasn't even good at the end of the season, he was just on fire for the whole first half.
Ya, we don't need to get Ellsbury, but I saying that IF we made this trade, then it may better to trade Byrd than Fukudome.
I honestly would never deal Byrd over Kosuke no matter what.
Marlon Byrd tries harder then most players in the MLB that alone gets him a starting CF spot. He wont ever put up great stats just decent ones, and hopefully with some clutch performances. Hes a great guy all around and you cant find many guys who are similar.
Yeah, he does try. You know who else tries? Ryan Theriot. Maybe we should get him back and start a team of scrappy ball players. It is nice to see Marlon's effort, but it's like you said, he's never going to put up great stats, just decent ones. If we can get 2 or 3 solid prospects for him, you do it.

I'd rather taken proven players over prospects. Marlon Byrd has proven himself to be a good MLB player. We know that we'll get an alright season out of him. With prospects, you have no clue what you're going to get.
