JASON PIERRE-PAUL vs MIKE REMMERS

The Chiefs have had injury problems along the OL all season, but the biggest blow of the year came before the biggest game of the year. Pro Bowl Left Tackle Eric Fisher is done for the year. In his place will be Mike Remmers, whom JPP already reminded the world earlier this week, has already been charged with protecting the blindside in a Super Bowl. Then with the Carolina Panthers, Remmers was abused frequently by the Broncos Von Miller on his way to winning a Super Bowl ring and MVP honors. While Pierre-Paul and Shaquil Barrett frequently switch spots, JPP rushed against the LT far more often in the NFC Championship win against the Packers...where he sacked Aaron Rodgers three times. Does history repeat itself with Remmers or can he keep his young QB's jersey clean?

SEAN-MURPHY BUNTING vs TRAVIS KELCE

Travis Kelce is having himself an exceptional playoff run thus game. In two games he has 21 grabs for 227 yards and three scores. Kelce has looked unstoppable all year after cracking 1400 yards receiving in the regular season, but someone has to try. Based on these two team's regular season matchup, this monumental task with mostly fall onto defensive back Sean-Murphy Bunting. Bunting had a team high 16 routes against Kelce in Week 12 and is playing the best football of his career this postseason. He is only allowing a 58.5 passer rating in the playoffs with four broken up passes on twenty targets and two interceptions. Can Bunting keep up his hot streak against the best receiving weapon in the entire NFL?

TOM BRADY vs STEVE SPAGNUOLO

If there was any doubt that Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback in league history, he seems to be cementing it this year. 43 years old, changing teams for the first time as a Pro, virtually no proper offseason and all Brady has to show for it is his tenth Super Bowl appearance. With six wins in nine tries, beating Tom Brady in the Super Bowl seems more insurmountable than Kilimanjaro. Yet the biggest upset came when the New York Giants beat the 18-0 New England Patriots to rob Brady of a perfect season. The key to that loss was the tremendous Giant defense led by Steve Spagnuolo. Now with the Chiefs, Brady has is 0-2 with last year's loss in the AFC Championship and the Week 12 meeting they had with Brady's new team. The Chiefs have picked off Brady three times in those two games alone. While his schemes have changed in order to keep up with today's NFL offenses, Spagnuolo's basic blueprint when facing Brady remains the same. Put as much pressure on him as you can while not giving up too much manpower in the secondary. Spagnuolo is also notorious for moving players around in an attempt to confuse Brady and has loved to blitz with various players all over his talented secondary this season. Can Spagnuolo keep his winning record against the greatest quarterback in NFL history or will Brady claw his way to an astounding seventh Super Bowl victory?

stat-of-the-week-heading-png.2618

Throughout his career as a defensive play-caller, Todd Bowles has loved to blitz and the 2020 season was no different. Tampa Bay's defense blitzed on 39% of opponents’ dropbacks this season, which helped the team finish sixth in adjusted sack rate, per Football Outsiders. However, blitzing has not been a good strategy against the Chiefs this season. Mahomes is averaging 9.1 yards per attempt against the blitz and his passer rating of 135.9 easily led the NFL. He also finished as PFF’s highest-graded quarterback against the blitz.

It's all to come down to:
  • Tampa's offensive line
  • Tampa's receivers; they have got to catch the passes that they have dropped in the past.

TB cant have those INTs either. He has to play his best game ever if they wanna beat the Chiefs.

After seeing what TB did to GBs OL a couple weeks ago, i've got a bad feeling for my boy Mahomes. His line not looking too hot.

I just hope its competitive either way .

One thing that hasn't been mentioned much is these are probably the two best groups of pass catchers in the league.

I think the Bucs have a shot if they can get consistent pressure with 4, and that's pretty likely with Fischer out. That's what the Giants got to beat Brady both times. That and Brady not turning it over can keep it close.

As far as obligatory "I'm a little bit country/I'm a little bit rock 'n' roll" national anthems go that wasn't bad
