That is actually a really good trade for the Bears if we assume they are a playoff contender this year.

Traded for 144 and if their 4th is hopefully in the 120s then they basically lost like 20-25 spots but 1 year later.

I would have been fine with Booker with the 4th round pick. So, I think the value was there.

And you hope that the Bears have generally later picks next year after winning more games. So, a mid to late future 4th for an early current 5th adds up as worth it to me.

If they can grab Leonard Taylor, DT, Miami as well in the next round... they can call it a day on an excellent draft..

nice with the booker pick...viewed as a poor man's max crosby...still think bears bring back yannick or lawson and have booker as 3rd guy to limit his mistakes on playing the run
Max Crosby was a 4th round pick = A.Booker in the 5th. Lets Go

Bears have 3 6ths one of which can become a 4th so Could see them moving a 6th for a 7th to get a guy they don't think will make it to UDFA.

The other funny one to me is that NFL.com had Booker projected as a 3rd round pick and his NFL comp as Maxx Crosby. Crosby actually was also a 5th round pick.

edit: Apparently I misremembered and Crosby was a 4th. Anywho...

I can't see below .500.
Same. Under .500 for a top 10 defense and an offense with so many weapons for a team that finished a game and a half under .500 last year would mean something went terribly, terribly wrong.

Why did the Bears trade into the 5th? I’m told they didn’t need any more picks and that they’re set on depth, hence the punter pick?
