Why did the Bears trade into the 5th? I’m told they didn’t need any more picks and that they’re set on depth, hence the punter pick.

Because he gets a player 1 year early for essentially 20 drafts spots.

We got 144 this year for what is likely 120-125 next year.

We'll likely have the extra 2025 5th as a comp pick if Allen moves on after next year, too.

I think if Poles has a weakness it’s making connections around the league. He seems to trade with the same teams over and over again. Hopefully this improves over time, no reason to think it won’t.

Got an edge rusher who was in on a top 30 visit correct? Hopefully that makes everyone happy.

Some teams trade more than others

Who said this?

Poles clearly has said that if they had players they wanted to trade back into the draft for, they would?
If it wasn’t you, why are you worrying about it?

The Bears are set on depth, and there are no development players worth it in the 4th round this year, hence the punter pick in the fourth round, I’m told.

Literally nobody said that and everyone was wondering how they're going to fill out the d line.

Are you in the wrong timeline?
Lol, yes they did. Remy said there’s no need for a non-punter pick there in the 4th because the Bears are set on depth, and IBleedBearsBlue and others said there aren’t any development players worth a 4th round pick this year.

If either of those is true, why would Poles give up assets and trade into the 5th?
