It certainly has bread in the title. Based on arguments in the other thread I think that is a cornerstone for calling it bread... BTW it most certainly has corn in it...

If cornbread is bread, it's the absolute only bread in the world that is literally never used for anything other than eating it plain.

It's closer to a brownie than it is to a loaf.

I like to put slices of their brisket between two pieces of cornbread.

Would that then be a brisket sandwich?

Of course not. Calling cornbread bread is illogical.

That looks like something poor people eat

Here is something Irish people eat. Corned beef and cabbage on a potato roll. They are the worst.

That really depends on how you define "corn." It has cornmeal, but I don't know that constitutes corn.

Like, if you ground a person into tiny little bits, you wouldn't walk past the bits and go, "Hey, Jeff!".

At what point in the grinding does the thing stop being the thing?

There's no poll, so I feel like this one is invalid. Also, as a southerner, I'm offended that you would even ask this question. Next thing you know, you're gonna go after sweet tea.

This is an excellent point. Thank you for being you.

Tribar, is that you?

No, but how nicely must I ask for you to unban ole? We all miss him, even you do somewhere deep in your e-heart.

I didn't feel a poll was necessary, as the answer should be obvious and come with a resounding ABSOLUTELY NOT.

I have no qualms with sweet tea, as it contains both the qualities of sweet and tea. Cornbread contains nothing that makes it either corn, or bread.

It's not a human... It's a fucking vegetable. If you slice a tomato it's still a tomato. If you blend a tomato into salsa it still contains tomato. Corn bread has corn in it. Period. If you ground up Jeff and put a bit of him in your hamburger it would contain some Jeff. Just because you mix or grind an ingredient doesn't make the ingredient not exist.

maybe you name your tomatoes.....

If you slice Jeff the tomato in half does it cease being Jeff the tomato....

I have to admit, this is a bigly great worded question:

"At what point in the grinding does the thing stop being the thing?"
