I have to admit, this is a bigly great worded question:

"At what point in the grinding does the thing stop being the thing?"

The Profundity was absolutely epic. I will be meditating on this all summer now.

As to the OP...nah. Despite it's name, cornbread has more in common with cake than bread. You could maybe call it a shortbread, but not a proper bread.

Maybe merge this thread with the other "meaty muff-cake" thread.

That really depends on how you define "corn." It has cornmeal, but I don't know that constitutes corn.

Cornbread is bread. And along with Crystal and Collard Greens, a requirement by my kids when I fry chicken. Baked in a cast iron skillet as well. We all dip it in the pot liquor.
