He's not as good as Konerko, but I don't think its fair to say a guy with an OPS+ of over 100 for every year in his career (except that short, short, short, stint in Boston) sucks.

He's not terrible, but he isn't great either.

Konerko is better by far.

I'd say he's just average. Not bad, not great. He was above average for a while, but overall, just, average.

But it is the best stat. AVG, OBP, and SLG are all important and say a lot about a hitter, but OPS is one of the best.
