Garber announced four expansion teams between NYCFC in 2015 the end of the decade.

Orlando and Miami seem to be locks, and I'd put by money on Atlanta and Minnesota for the remaining two slots.

Would love to see St. Louis sometime down the road.

Would love for Minnesota to get a team.

Would you guess they play in the Vikings new stadium or need their own?

Vikings want their's to be built "with soccer in mind", therefore it would be designed so that it may simulate a soccer-specific stadium at soccer events with the retractable windows they were talking about and would thus be allowed to use it, at least tentatively.

They need to play in their own stadium, if not NO team...

I thought that was the requirement to get a team (except Vancouver and Seattle got team without a SSS).

The Vikings and Falcons have both expressed interest in hybrid stadiums that can give the appearance of an SSS for soccer matches. With such strong ownership groups, the league would likely allow it.

NYCFC also has no SSS, but intends to eventually get one. Similarly strong ownership groups played major role in this.

Don't both Atlanta and Minnesota want to build dome stadiums, that would mean TWO more field with turf.

That was all about $$$$$, but I'd bet you that they will be playing in a SSS. They will be in a SSS by 2016, I wouldn't be surprised if they were in one in 2015.

It'll take longer than that, but yes $$$ talks, which is why these NFL owners will get the same exception. They'll make it work in a new stadium, unlike the outdated Gillette Stadium.

NYCFC will be at Yankee Stadium for multiple seasons, as confirmed by Mayor Bloomberg.

New York paid $100 million expansion fee, I don't think Atlanta and Minnesota's expansion fee is going to anywhere close to that. That's why New York got in without a SSS already built or being built. They will be in a SSS by 2016 count on it, with Manchester City and Yankee's money and clout they will be in a SSS by 2016.

We'll see, I just doubt league would be willing to pass on new markets with strong ownership groups just because a stadium built with soccer in mind isn't an SSS.

Well let's hope they are not like topical NFL owners. NFL owners just saying they want the stadium for both soccer and football, just to get the stadium built. Then when they get their stadium built, they say we will look into having a soccer team play here also.

If they are committed like Settle that would be great. If they do get a team and run it like New England (Like Kraft, tax write off), then that would be horrible.

Yes, I'm fine with it as long as it isn't like the Revs situation. Kraft couldn't give less of a shit about them.

If Atlanta and Minnesota owners were serious about having a MLS, the one thing that would be different than New England is they would have put up 35-50 millions in an expansion fee. Kraft is an original investor and I think he put in 5 million to get New England as a team (so I think he just uses them as a tax write off and have 20 extra dates to play in Gillette Stadium. So both Atlanta and Minnesota owners would have more incentive to have their teams not be like New England.

I still would rather have them play in a 20,000-25,000 SSS than a 67,000-75,000 NFL stadium (even if they are hybrid stadium I you said).

Team #21 will be Orlando
Team #22 will be Miami

and

I think team #23 will be San Antonio (I like what they have going with their ownership and their stadium). As for team #24, if every goes the way they think they are going to go, I wouldn't be surprised if New York Cosmos come aboard as team #24. I would rather it be another team from the West like San Diego, Arizona....

You could something like this:

Eastern Division:
1.CHICAGO
2.New York Redbulls
3.NYCFC
4.DC United
5.New England
6.Columbus
7.Toronto
8.Montreal
9.Philadelphia
10.Orlando
11.Miami
12.Kansas City

Western division:

1.Los Angeles
2.CD Chivas
3.Real Salt Lake
4.Portland
5.Vancouver
6.Seattle
7.San Jose
8.Houston
9.Colorado
10.FC Dallas
11.San Anontio
12.San Diego/Arizona/Las Vegas

and if MLS caves with $$$ New York Cosmos will bring into the league and make them team #24, then you could move Kansas City to the west and have New York Cosmos in the east. Maybe they could call New York Redbulls what they really are New Jersey Redbulls.

Just a quick list of cities I'd be interested in getting expansion franchises:
Orlando, Miami, Atlanta, Minnesota, San Antonio, St. Louis, Milwaukee, Indianapolis.
I wish Chivas USA would just relocate to San Diego.

Too early or just not that into for Sacramento, Ottawa, Oklahoma City, Detroit, Phoenix, Pittsburgh.

Some underdogs I think would support teams well but highly doubt we see anytime soon: Nashville, Memphis.

And yes, I think stadium share is reasonable to MLS suits as long as the ownership shows commitment and ambition to the product. I would just hope they use a convertible stadium with a natural surface. Even the best turf is still shit and potentially damaging to players longevity.

Pretty much on the same page here and expecting 3 of the same cities to get teams, though San Antonio wouldn't surprise me in the slightest either.

I would absolutely LOVE to see a team in St. Louis, a lot of people would be excited down there and they need a team to cheer on besides the Cards. An interesting point to think about that my friend brought up the other day. It seems like a lot of the franchises that succeed in the MLS aren't necessarily the biggest cities, but in cities that don't have strong teams in other sports leagues. Teams like Portland and Seattle come to mind.

Those cities would be good choices, but I would prefer a different city to get it instead of having three teams in Texas.

Maybe Chicago could a team, because he way Andy is treating the current team, seems like we don't have a team here.

That's why I'm thinking Memphis would support a team pretty well.
