Looks like Atlanta might get an expansion team, but it won't be to 2017. Stadium won't be done to 2017, Falcons will operator the team.

That coming after the news that 3 of the 4 are basically set. ProSoccerTalk seemed to think Atlanta was #4, but probably 3 IMO.

I'd say that Orlando and Miami are definitely in, with Atlanta, San Antonio, Minneapolis still in the mix. St. Louis a longshot due to no ownership, maybe they can replace Chivas is a few years. :shrug:

Sounding like Orlando (2015?), Miami (2016?), and Atlanta (2017?) are sure things for expansion, leaving one spot... San Antonio?

Rumor is that Atlanta will share stadium with Falcons, with an artificial roof to reduce visible capacity to 27K.

Just 5,123 at the Chivas USA game last night, may as well throw their franchise rights in and make it be that 4 (including NYCFC) of six spots are taken.

I do think this league can go higher than 24...
20 we have now (incl. NYCFC)
Orlando, Miami, Atlanta
San Antonio
Minneapolis
St. Louis
San Diego
Milwaukee
Detroit
Indianapolis
Nashville/Memphis
etc.
