@Xplosive were you the one that posted this? Burden has some attitude issues?
Yes, he got multiple personal fouls for doing dumb things like snatching the DBs mouth piece and throwing it, pushing after the play, he even threw a little punch as well.

Basically the same kind of dumb penalties and stuff that Stevenson does.

No
Zero chance I could have written that piece, I'm much too stupid. Just ask anyone around here
No one said you’re stupid.

I don’t watch Mizzou but I wonder why his production fell off a cliff. They basically returned 75%+ of their offense from last year.

For shits and giggles, I'm looking at Austin Booker vs. James Pearce's measurements going into the draft:

Booker:
H/W: 6'4" 240
Hands: 9 1/4"
40: 4.79
Vert: 32.5"
3Cone: 7.28
Arms: 33 7/8"
Shuttle: 4.47
Broad: 120
Wingspan: 81 3/8"
Ten Yd: 1.67

Pearce:
H/W: 6'5" 245
Hands: 10"
40: 4.47
Vert: 31"
3Cone: ?
Arms: 32 3/4"
Shuttle: ?
Broad: 123
Wingspan: 81"
Ten Yd: 1.56

I wonder what Booker will be playing at this year after a full offseason in the program. I wonder how much Poles/the Bears will be looking at him to be the pass rushing juice off the bench versus feeling they need to spend the 10th pick on a guy like Pearce.

There are some questions he would not answer in the interviews I believe. AT 243, pro GMs don't know how well he will stand up against the run.
Pearce? he will be fine against the run, he was at Tennessee at least

It's hard to say but their QB had a terrible season. Basically the fans and analysts say it wasn't Burden's fault that the offense was so bad.

Sure, but if that truly wasn't the case, then Greg Olsen would have retired a Chicago Bear... And on the flip side, we never should have seen a GM draft Shea McClellin to be a 4-3 Defensive End lmao.

I get what you are saying, these guys (GM and Coaches) are in it together. Poles doesn't have a long leash at this point, and the power dynamic is clearly leaning to BJ. I'd also argue that Dennis Allen probably has quite a bit of say in the club room for the Defense. I think BJ wants to be hands off there.

I will say that I agree with your sentiment that it would be dumb to pass on a better player because he doesn't fit a coaching scheme's fit, but coaches want what they want. And it's like you said, if comes down to whether Poles and/or Allen thinks Pearce is a fit. History suggests that Allen would say no. And we go from there...
Well, I think Greg Olsen is a great example of why you can't just toss players cause the coordinator. Great players are hard to find, and in that case, an all pro caliber one. It was the wrong call to give way there, especially when they didn't even keep Martz around a long time. And that's really the danger. Shea was just a bad pick however anyone wants to slice it. That has more to do with selecting a guy out a smaller school and buying hype. I don't know who loved him... was it the coach or GM, but it was the wrong call regardless of scheme or anything.

For what it's worth, Pearce is just the name brought up, so I was referring to him, but I just say the methodology should apply to anyone (I do like Pearce though). If the guy is a star, he'll shine even if he's a bit too light on the scale. Guys like Micah and Will Anderson Jr. show that the right guy can stand up or put his hand in the dirt and be a force... even if smaller. Van Ginkle is another that plays all along the line in an aggressive defense. Watt is a pretty small edge too... or if somehow we had a shot at Abdul Carter. I think Allen would gladly take any of these guys despite them not being 260 lbs. If Poles identifies a guy like that, I just don't think you exclude them from the board cause the weight. It's just too rigid.

Did he? This was referring to his pro day number. As far as I saw, his only timed result are these ~4.8 numbers.
Oh shit i had a dyslexic moment thats a 4.83 not 4.38.

Yeah you cant run a 4.8 as a WR thats much worse than just refusing to test.

Yeah he’s got production but major off the field concerns. Classic Bears pass unfortunately
I hope not, but I know what you mean. There seems to be little to no facts related to it all though. I'm sure it's not nothing, so I'm not trying to totally dismiss it... but they can't expect everyone to be saints at 18/19 years old. They can do their homework and hopefully trust veterans on the team to keep it all together. That's a lot of the value I hope Jarrett being around brings. Also, putting a winning product together should hopefully be enough to keep it mostly together.

I like Pearce more but would take green and be very happy over any te or rb in this draft

It’s a tossup for me and might give the slight nod to green, but I agree…give me one of those 2 and I’ll be happy.

Those are fake concerns when they trade for people like claypool and draft guys like Stevenson. Dude has talent and the line needs guys like him.
Must've been fake concerns for Jalen Carter too... Green has OFF the field concerns, not like Claypool would has on the field concerns.
Green has past allegations of sexual assault dating back to high school and a suspension during his college career

The bad news: He was accused twice and had to transfer schools because of the 2nd accusation.

The good news: He was never arrested or charged in either case and had no further allegations at Marshall.

I think they passed on Carter cause flus trash defense “fit” and poles striking out on oline in fa.

Consequently... both have off the field issues. I think Roseman and Veach are our smearing guys so they fall to them in the draft.
