Your incessant complaining about how shitty Campbell is at LT is really all for naught as he will be gone before 10 so cheer up!

I thought I was having a pretty good conversation with @DaBears3434. Maybe he'll be gone by 10, maybe he won't be. Like I said in my previous post, but Mike Tice has several OL ahead of Campbell, and he actually evaluated OL for NFL teams when he was coaching. I don't think it's a lock he goes top 10.

Thanks. Hopefully someone in the top 10 takes him so that we don’t have to worry about it. I think I’m at a point where I want either Mason Graham (unlikely), Jalon Walker, or Will Johnson. Maybe Membou if we think he can play LT. If all of those guys are gone, I’d want to trade down.

I also would love to trade down but don't think it's very realistic. I'm hoping for something like this in the first two rounds.

10. Ashton Jeanty
39. Jonah Savaiinaea or Donovan Jackson
41. Princley Umanmielen or JT Tuimoloau

The interesting thing is who will be available at 39 and 41. There are so many players who will be “likely gone” by 39, but that probably means somebody has to drop. Kiper had us taking Walter Nolan at 39. I’d be thrilled if he was available.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't complain with Nolan at 39. I think the Bears need an edge guy more than a DT, but Nolan's upside is probably higher than any of the edge guys who would likely be available. There's going to be so many good players available in the 2nd round which is why I really want to trade down and acquire an additional 2nd. I just think it will be very hard to pull off, but hey...all you need is one dance partner.

It's been a good conversation and you've brought up good points. I may not be Miek Tice's biggest fan, but it's good to have another perspective.

One thing I saw this week, and honestly wonder if I read it right since it's not been brought up in discussion - Simmons, who was considered a very good OT prospect before the injury has arms as short as Will Campbell. Did I dream that? Its not mentioned.

Yeah, 33. Inch arms for Simmons but he has a longer wingspan (82 inches). That said, the knee injury and the character concerns are too much for me. I wouldn’t touch him in the 1st round.

I just found it odd that Campbell is written off by some due to arm length, while Simmons' possibility of recovery from patella tendon surgery is a topic if discussion, while Simmons also has T-Rex arms.

His wingspan is 5 inches more than campbell’s but I think most people have written off Simmons, tbh. His tape was definitely better than Campbell, but the patella injury is brutal and will be extremely difficult for him to bounce back…and those character concerns are ugly too….i see him mocked and talked about as a late 1st guy and it was mentioned that some teams have him knocked down a full round because of the injury/character.

I’d love it. They’d get one of the few blue chip players in the draft at a position of need and they still address the trenches.
Doesn’t address the biggest need on OL.

Spends a top 10 pick on a position with a short shelf life that will have starters available in round 3 or later.

No trade down in any of the first 3 picks.

Sorry, barf.

Doesn’t hurt my feelings man no need to be sorry. I’d def like a trade down either at 10 or in the 2nd, but I kept it simple.

We can agree to disagree about #10

Kiper is on drugs. Unless Nolen catches an arrest for a serious felony, there is no chance he drops to 39. I think he will go top-20.

I think he has a higher ceiling as a 3T over everyone in the draft, including Graham.

Kiper is most definitely on drugs but I’ve seen Nolan mocked by others in the 2nd too. It’s all over the place with him. Personally, I don’t think he makes it past 20-25 and could even go earlier.

This draft is all over the place. Seems all the picks from 15 to 50 are all interchangeable

1) Is Amegadjie injured right now? isn't he in an off-season conditioning program right now? Wasn't last season supposed to be a redshirt year so he could get healthy and compete for a starting job in 2025?

2) Aren't most rookie third round prospects considered a project to be developed? How many third-round trench players actually hit the ground running and offer serious competition to veteran starting in front of them?
Christian Mahogany did pretty well. and he was a 6th round pick
