Consider me all in on the Derek Harmon train. Dude is the versatile 3T the interior needs. Got the size, production, best DT tape in the draft, better than Graham imo. I’m just hoping Poles and Allen can see it too.

He has elite first step quickness, rip and pull power, in a lot of the film I’ve seen, he’s either blowing by people or rag dolling them. He seems to create absolute havoc on the interior. Last year, my favorite tape on dline was Verse, this year it’s Harmon.

I’d then go Landon Jackson with one of the seconds and the best available OT or RB with the other. You’d fix the dline for a long time with this set up.

Everyone talks about his character issues but I still don’t know what they supposedly are. 🤷‍♂️
According to Dane Brugler's THE BEAST, he was arrested for speeding, driving on a suspended license, and failure to present insurance - but all charges were dropped. It also says that scouts are wary if he has the right amount of "love of the game." Which probably means he murdered two or three white women while at Tennessee.

I don't remember if it was on The Score, or on a podcast, but there was somewhere I heard that UT basically kept him away from the media.

This is just a friendly reminder that college stats don’t mean shit:

Michael Haynes is tied for second on Penn States single season sack leader list with 15 in 2002. (Had 5.5 total in 3 seasons with the Bears)

Chandler Jones had 10 sacks total in 3 years of college ball. (4.5 being his best year). Had 112 in his NFL career.

Shea McClellin had 20.5 sacks at Boise. 8.5 in the NFL.
Sounds like Shea is ready to turn the corner.

Just thought this exchange was kind of funny. One moment he says the Bears shouldn’t trade up for a RB… “not this year”, but then implies other teams would be willing to trade up… as if it’s stupid to think they wouldn’t move up. Can’t really have it both ways.
Far be it from me to defend Gregggggggggg, but is it possible that he's saying it isn't the year for the Bears to make that move, but for other teams it might be the right time?

I don’t think so. The “especially this year “ refers to depth at RB so it would not apply only to the Bears.

He’s an idiot.

But it brings up a point: the Saints could definitely be a spot for a team to trade up for Jeanty given all the hoopla about CHI and Jeanty. We’ll see how their QB situation transpires.

The only team i could see being dumb enough to trade up for a RB in the top 10 is jerry and the cowboys

I could see it happening and I wouldn’t be all that surprised. Not saying it’s smart, but still.

Dallas trading up makes lots of sense.

It could be. I thought about it for sure and it’s pretty fair to say it’s what he meant. But, I can’t find the logic that the Bears can’t do it, but some other teams can do it. I can’t imagine what teams those are.

I ultimately wondered what year would it be ok for this team in his eyes? I don’t think he’d have a good answer to that… it tough to sell ever trying to move up to the top 10 for a RB.

Point taken, but I think guys who don’t produce in college and then suddenly turn a corner and become great pros is the exception rather than the rule.

Yea, but then the Bears could trade up too for pretty minimal value (like the Jalen Carter trade). I’m not saying they would, but hard to say another team would trade up, but no way the Bears would. You’d have to at least be somewhat open to the idea that they might, especially if Ben absolutely loves the guy, which he might.

Let's be real, Greggggggg rarely has a good answer to anything.

Yeah that is possible. Say Jeanty falls to 9. New Orleans can leverage the Bears and Cowboys in a trade, fall only to 10 or12 and still get their guy whoever it may be.

Just to be clear, based on what you’ve said in this thread, if Stewart is a consistent 10+ sack producer it’s still a bad pick?
If that happens no one will complain and it won't be a bad pick. Taking a reckless gamble on just athleticism like that is poor decision making.

A guy can bet his mortgage at the racetrack and win. Horrible decision making even if it pays off.
