Saw a mock trade for Breece Hall.

Bears get - B.Hall and a 4th round pick.

Jets get - our 3rd round pick.

Would you do it?

Breece will be looking for big new deal. Don't know what that would look like but it'll be a lot.

I love Breece Hall but I’m drafting one from this deep group and not making that trade.

Breece hasnt really performed well enough to warrant a big deal - He's "declined" every year

He prob gets 5-6m a year on the open market, similar to najee

I'm more worried about the Jets taking Membou than what happens to Jeanty.

Unfortunately there’s no way I really see either OT make it to 10.

If that happens no one will complain and it won't be a bad pick. Taking a reckless gamble on just athleticism like that is poor decision making.

A guy can bet his mortgage at the racetrack and win. Horrible decision making even if it pays off.

Your entire premise is that if a GM takes a guy HE likes but YOU don’t, it’s a risk.

Even if the GM is proven right and the guy is great, it’s reckless. ?

Somewhat arrogant, no?

Hmmmm… my initial gut feel is “no”. I think there is good value at RB with the picks already in hand. I’m sort of hesitant to deal with the contract part too. On draft day, when I see what’s there in the 3rd, I’d revisit. But today, not knowing, I’ll pass.

Also why trade for a guy that wants a new contract when you can get a rookie on a cheap deal?

Hmmmm… my initial gut feel is “no”. I think there is good value at RB with the picks already in hand. I’m sort of hesitant to deal with the contract part too. On draft day, when I see what’s there in the 3rd, I’d revisit. But today, not knowing, I’ll pass.

He tore his acl in like the middle of the 2022 season and has pretty much struggled to get back to his old self since then. Too bad because he was one of the best all around RB's in football before that. He has had some games where he looked like he was going to get back to that player but still has had setbacks and i'm sure it hasn't helped being on those Jets offenses.

Terrible analogy. Someone being their mortgage to the #10 pick has zero correlation

It's terrible. I hate it!

Breece hall had nearly 1600 all purpose yards in 2023 with terrible qb and ol play. He was really good. Having said that, I wouldn't make that previous trade you mentioned

This isn't exactly rocket science and I've seen enough GMs come and go who believed they were the smartest in the room and wasted picks on their hunches despite it being obvious to most that it's a dumb choice.

If Shemar Stewart turns into Myles Garrett no one will care, but the odds of that are extremely high.

Can you give a better correlation for drafting a player with horrible production at his position with a premium draft pick just because he is a great overall athlete?

The only reward for suffering through the 2024 season is having better draft picks so to use that on someone so risky, I absolutely think it's similar to betting everything on a longshot.

I started typing a reply asking the same question he's ignored previously, but I realize this is a vortex that isn't ending soon, and I didn't want to get caught in it.

I get liking certain players and not wanting others. And I am not advocating for drafting Stewart. But I can't understand why he keeps calling it "risky". Why is it any more "risky" than anyone else?

Amazing part is knocking the GM for going on a hunch and getting it right but what does that mean for players that are drafted on advanced metrics and other characteristics but end up busting? Does that validate the GM’s decision? I don’t want Stewart either, and nor do I want Warren, but I will root for whoever they draft. Whatever I think is inconsequential at the end of the day.
