Yep. Mock Draft 12.0.Why? Something happening in 8 days?
Which would drop him into that 3rd round area.Lott has been a good player since he came out of high school. Dude showed up early at ASU as a player and then got the money to go to Tennessee. I think he'll be a steady player in the NFL 10 years much like Lawrence Guy was. He may never be a game wrecker but he'll be an average NFL player for many years.
My only concern with him is he has years of injury issues that kept him from fully realizing his potential.
Man, I'm full meatball. Go get him. I'd gladly trade a 2026 2nd + our 5th this year to move up to #5.![]()
A Letter to NFL GMs | By Ashton Jeanty
I truly believe I was born to do this.www.theplayerstribune.com
I’m a fan… so not to dump on him, but he did have poor metrics at the pro day as a pass rush specialist. He showed up about 15 lbs heavier (played at around 290), and ran a 5.15 40 and 1.83 10, where guys his weight are more around 4.95 and 1.7. Even 330 lb Tyleik did a 1.74 10 yard split. I think the 1.83 time isn’t even in the the top 100 DTs to put it into perspective. The 40, I think, just cracks the top 100. These were really bad numbers. Brugler has him as a 3rd-4th grade.I’d be shocked if he lasts until the 3rd. Think he’s going early round 2 and if you told me he’d sneak into the back half of the 1st, I wouldn’t be surprised
What other DL/DE did we even bring in other than Norman Lott and S.Stewart? Is there any other ones at all?I believe only DT in top 30 visits was Norman-Lott 6-3 315, if that means anything.

Absolutely agree about the need for a long term solution at LT. This just may not be the draft class to adequately address it, just like it’s not a good draft if you’re a team that needs a QB.Either way the Bears can't go into training camp with a rehabbing starting LT and Amegadjie as their two primary left tackles.
If Jones has a set back or if Jones' timeline for recovery changes at all the Bears are fucked.
But yeah Jeanty or Warren make much more sense than solidifying the most important position on the offensive line.
Don't get me wrong. I don't disagree with you. Jeanty could be the pick. I'm not saying Poles has done any smokescreen visits or non-visits. I'm just saying GMs definitely do that. Usually just a 1st round deception, usually if they want to move.Using conventional Bear Fan wisdom explain to me how bringing in a top ranked RB who is expected to go to the Raiders is a smokescreen.
We have brought in exactly 1 defensive player that's worthy of our pick. If we're not going offense that would mean that's the defensive player we're getting or we're drafting blind.
Without crunching a bunch of boards I see a lot of defensive players we could've brought in to smokescreen the one that we did bring in. Unless all the offense on our board is gone it's offense with #10. There is no smoke.
I can almost guarantee you Jeanty is on the table.
He might be our 10th option but there's a scenario where The Chicago Bears draft Ashton Jeanty with the 10th pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
If you knew Jeanty would become Barkley wouldn't you do it? I still want to keep our 2nd/3rds this year. We don't have a 4th. It'll cost a 2nd, so why not give 2026's 2nd (which I expect to be much later) + our 5th to get a truly special RB? I loved that essay he penned. Man is saying come draft me, I'll be elite. Let's GO. I'm all in. I don't want five average players. I'd rather have three blue chippers./elites.That’s not full meatball. Full something else…
Dennis Gentry? Just kiddin.Don't get me wrong. I don't disagree with you. Jentry could be the pick. I'm not saying Poles has done any smokescreen visits or non-visits. I'm just saying GMs definitely do that. Usually just a 1st round deception, usually if they want to move.
Correct this isn't a good class for a LT. But having a .mediocre LT is better than having no LT week 1. And the guy they likely draft can become the LG replacement for Thuney if he struggles.Absolutely agree about the need for a long term solution at LT. Membou will probably be gone. Campbell may be gone, and if not, I think he would have the shortest wingspan of any LT in history (I think).
What if Poles and Co. aren’t high and Banks and dont think he would even be able to supplant Jones? I happen to agree with that sentiment.
Fact is, the draft board may not fall in a way where taking a T makes sense, just like you think taking Jeanty doesn’t make sense.
Good player lots of injuries.@knoxville7 thoughts on Lott??

Campbell and Membou will both be gone before #10, I'd bet my house on it.Correct this isn't a good class for a LT. But having a .mediocre LT is better than having no LT week 1. And the guy they likely draft can become the LG replacement for Thuney if he struggles.
The depth the Bears have at LT is poor it goes to non existent if Jones' timeline changes in the slightest. No Jones in week 1 with Amegadjie starting and who do you want as the backup to Amegadjie?
They cannot afford to risk this. Get the left tackle from Banks Campbell and Membou.
