If Johnson thinks that Warren is the ultimate chess piece for his offense and among the best talents on the board then I wouldn't argue with it. I do think Kmet would basically be relegated to nothing which is a terrible use of assets but oh well, as long as Warren turns out to be a stud.

It doesn't look like Henderson will last til #39 now, especially when you consider that teams will know we're eyeing a RB and will have to trade up above us to get him.

IMO, this all boils down to what Ben wants and I'm good with whatever they do. We really don't know how their draft board is stacked.

If Ben thinks that a Warren/Loveland is a critical chess piece for the offense and a major upgrade over Cole, then I'm excited to see how that plays out. Cole is only 3.2 mil dead cap next year, 1.6mil if post 6/1 release.

If he thinks Jeanty/Hampton immediately improves the offense and are significantly better than the day 2 RB's, fine.

If he wants an OT or a DL, cool with me.

The last few drafts have been easy to predict, this one I'm not as sure of.

Incidentally, if you look at the probability of position taken at 10 they are...

RB 23%, OL 21%, DL 21%, TE 17%.

He’s coming off a serious injury and they just had a head case with Nate Davis.

Plus, I’m waiting for someone to tell about one quality matchup he faced in college.

Matt miller has been very high on banks since day 1. He's much much higher on him than most of these other analystss

His first mock he had him going #3.

If the bears do go OL at 10, banks is the one guy I’d be ok with. Think he’s the best LT prospect in the draft, and also should have some guard versatility. I’d prob be ok with Conerly Jr too, but not sure he has the versatility that Banks does.

I asked @msadows this too. Who did Simmons actually play? The majority of his career was at San Diego State and he was injured against the only quality team he played in the Big Ten.

Their first three games last year were blowouts against complete cupcakes.

What was his signature game against a NFL level edge prospect?

He's likely the most talented OL in the draft and can be better than braxton.

Taking a tackle at #10 for him to basically be average(braxton) is the worst case scenario. If all it takes is 72 then its worth the risk for me.

But you didn't say all you would give is #72, you said to pair #72 with #39 and #41 which is absolutely crazy even if it wasn't for a guy coming off a major injury.

I missed that I guess. Kind of checked out after a scout called him a f@ggòt. But also from what that scout said and what I've seen from others like thorn, it's not accurate. He lacks fundamentals? I just don't agree with that in what I've seen. And not sure what he means by lacks power. If he's talking about moving people in the run game, he's probably right but in that case so do Campbell and banks and conerly.

Isn’t this year four of poles? Tanking isn’t even an option anymore need some results especially going all in on hc hire which should have happened last year but whatever. I don’t believe in either scenario but yours is more likely vs committing to another tank year. They weren’t even trying to tank last year flus lost the team like most scrub George hc hires. So I highly doubt they are tanking this year and selling out for next year lol that ship has sailed

I spend zero time on X but also know there's a ton of trolls that hate on people only to do just that, hate on people. What they actually say has really no meaning because their only thought is only to hate for no reason but they just live miserable lives and get something out of it. Now of course there's also plenty of people that aren't there to just troll and do actually watch tape of him and are serious about their feelings of him but it is just fans and i care more about what the actual Scouts, GM's and Coaches think of him.

I’m aware. It’s not an ideal situation, and they’ll need to add an OT at some point, but I don’t think you over draft a lesser player just because you’re concerned your starter might miss a couple of games. The Bears also have a lot more info on Braxtons injury too….if they’re really concerned about it or the rehab isn’t going well, thats definitely a factor….but if you expect him to fully bounce back, he’s going to beat out all these guys being talked about.

Who is the OT you're targeting in the second round? Because over the past three years there's been an average of 1.34 OTs drafted in round two. There's going to be a run on offensive tackles before the Bears pick again in the second round regardless of whether or not it's the smart play. Teams will talk themselves into it because they need OTs.

So the Bears need depth on both sides of the ball but yeah target a TE because Kmet's lack of targets led to a drop in production that people are panicking about.

Campbell and Membou likely go 4 and 7 and if the Bears don't go OT Banks probably goes 11 to the 49ers. Add in the Dolphins and Texans who need OTs and suddenly there's no one left in the second round.


That's Campbell Membou Banks Simmons and Connerly in the first round that's no one left in round two.

Even if they wanted to get rid of him or didn't value him why wouldn't they trade him? He's 26 years old and even if you think he is only mediocre, why would you cut him?
