I want some insurance in case they can't get an extension done for Thuney or Jackson isn't as good as they thought or Jones isn't fully ready for Week 1 or Grady Jarrett regresses because of age or the DE from the Colts is our version of Corey Wootton.

I'm sick and tired of scrap heap guys. There's been so many guys they've pulled in last minute in camp they hope will work out. I want to build up this team once and for all.
I'm here on this one with you. Getting a tackle in the top 50 with a couple years at LT under his belt would be good for this team, and there's a lot of good options at guard that could be there in the third round for our pick. And a stronger rotation on the DL with top talents will help get us out of the cellar of the NFCN. I'm not sure there's a price in unwilling to pay to protect Caleb Williams, and I'd very much like to treat opposing QBs to the kind of pressure that ours had to last year.

I don’t know what is more pathetic if that trade up rumor is true.

1. Poles thinking he is one player away and offering 3 picks for one.

2. The stupid Giants GM declining it.

The battle of the dumbasses continues.
I'm off on Poles but this wouldn't be something I hated. If they see Carter as a potential HOF DE - it would be a move that would get me excited.

But this will be the 4th 2nd rounder that Poles will have traded away. With his miss rate on picks in the 3rd and later you're looking at an unsustainable situation.

I hope they do, several many times. Just so I can come on here and watch grown ass men completely melt the **** down and throw whiny temper tantrums worse then my god daughter, who's 7.

Oh your 7 year old won’t have shit on me if the bears pick someone I don’t like

Just wait until he drafts Mason Graham! I have read on this very board that he sucks and sucks some more.

That’s why there is no end to this rebuild

I’d be fine with graham, although not to the extent as others might be.

Chill guys, it's lying season as they say. It could be that Poles is actually trying to move back in the draft.
Yup, exactly... until a trade happens, there's really nothing to see here. Any discussions about trades is part of the job and data gathering.

"Trying to predict the Bears’ Big Board at 10

Here’s an attempt to get inside the heads at Halas Hall

1. Ashton Jeanty, Boise State Running Back

I feel like the smoke here has to be from an actual fire. “Ben Johnson is smitten” is something that’s circulated in the league. People from every angle feel the Bears' interest in Jeanty is genuine. The question is, how strong is the interest? Would the Bears just wait and see if he drops to 10? Or will they be aggressive and trade up to the 5th or 7th spot to go grab the Boise State running back?

Zimmerman isn't the biggest dummy and I tend to agree with him here.
If Ben feels that he has to have AJ, then I think that Poles will try to move up and secure him if possible.
Where and how much, who knows but it wouldn't shock me.

It’s either the biggest smokescreen ever or they’ll have to teach Ben how to play Poker.

Wouldn't it be more like Ben wants him and it's up to Ryan and Ian to figure out how to obtain him within their comfort zone if possible.
They've obviously been talking with teams so that's how the smoke rises. Maybe Mr. Mojo rising.

You think the trenches are good enough?

LT needs a long term answer. Edge needs at minimum more depth and realistically a quality pass rusher. DT needs more depth and some youth. IOL needs depth.
They don't absolutely have to replace Braxton this year. They don't even know what they have in Amegadjie. The only prospect I think that is a no brainer is Membou and he likely is gone before 10.

NT is definitely needed behind Billings but not 3Tech this year. A big body guy like Grant makes sense so that could be the one trench player I see, but they can just as easily grab a run stuffer later.

DE is a tossup, I'd love Mike Green in round one, or perhaps they grab one in the second. Ultimately DE or DT are the most likely choice with at least one of the top 3 picks. They might grab both but not necessarily.

If we don't take RB at #10 which RB do you want at #39/41—who do you like best? Hampton? Henderson? Judkins?
