I don't really care about his confidence/conviction. I prefer him to be right.

Actually conviction can lead to trading up for a bust or passing up a guy who dropped because you're convinced your guy is the guy. I prefer a guy who understands that even the best best talent evaluators are wrong a lot and this keeps an open mind, looks at every angle.

Honestly if these guys have a lot of confidence in their picks they're stupid. It's like having confidence in rolling dice.
I think you missed the entire point and this is ridiculous.

Empty stats on a losing team. I meant in the way of wins but I can see why it looks stats related. They certainly aren’t losing because of him but they are wasting him because the team wasn’t ready.
Yep, I agree with that point. RB isn't a high value position overall. But he is a stud, and those stats aren't empty. They show how good he is. There are lots of great players on bad teams, doesn't diminish their value imo.

That’s my point, he is a great player, better than Jeanty at least in my mind, and it doesn’t matter because the team sucks on oline and dline.

It’s like Barkley on the Giants.

Edit: this is combating trading up for Jeanty, at 10 fine.

if they draft well, then maybe its just a good pick and not any more of a "chance" or "risk" than most of these players

never seemed to be on the outside looking in. i agree, it is unfortunate that there are people out there playing with a kids future and finances
Then I'll politely ask that they puff puff and pass. Could use a bit of their delusion.

Banks all day. Looks like he’s gone by then though
If we go off of the outside draft guys thoughts, it sure looks like Campbell, Banks and Membou all go top 9 now and to make it worse they most also have M.Graham, M.Williams and Jeanty off the board top 9. This is why we're now seeing so many people with us taking Warren at 10. If those 6 are off the board then i might even take a trade down package that a little under what it would normally be. Not crazy low but a little low.

We’ve gone round and round.

Who’s your guy at 10 excluding Hunter and Carter? It’s draft day MFers!

I still want Kelvin Banks Jr.
Kelvin Banks Jr. come on down!

lets make it 3 years in a row nailing the bears first rounders

Atl OL doesn't suck. Just qb and entire defense

Wins and losses are not an individual stat unless maybe that individual is the HC but even then usually not.
I could see Jeanty making the QB protection look better on this team which would make the whole team better.

I do agree, don't trade up for Jeanty (or anyone) and I prefer OT at 10 (just from the way the sims have played out for D trenches).

I'm not entirely sold on Jeanty. I do want the team to have a great RB again. I think we have more important things to do.
I'm not going to cry about it if Poles thinks Jeanty is a now or never RB.

Ok I was responding to this.

My point was simply if they take an OL or DL with any of those picks there is no guarantee they are absolutely starters year 1.

Bears are in position to go BPA within reason IMO.
I agree the Bears are in position to go BPA... at a position of need.

If they are going to invest premium picks into players that won't be playing a significant amount of snaps this season or at worst the starter going into next season, it's a waste.

It's better to grab a rare Safety prospect that can start day one in the first round, over taking a LG that won't start until 2027 for example.
