Really good video. Worth the 15 minutes for sure. I'm STOKED.
Declan Doyle seems like someone we won't have for long if this offense breaks out like they way you would think they will when looking at this depth chart and coaching staff on paper. Think he'll get him a HC job pretty quick.

Curious why you think that when he's just a clipboard holder for BJ who will be designing the offense and calling the plays. I think Doyle's scenario is very different that BJ's. But then again, Nagy got the HC gig and he didn't design the O or call plays either and then proved to be a failure as a HC when he had to run the O.

Every pundit had 3 OT's going before 10 during draft week so Poles had a fastball down the middle on that one.
Even still, I bet Ben wanted Loveland instead of Banks knowing they could get their Braxton competition on day 2.
I saw Banks projected anywhere from 10 to 27. I don't recall three OT's in the Top 9 being a slam dunk.

I say that because he's worked for Sean Payton and Payton had nothing but great things to say about him and now he's working for who everyone thinks is the next great offensive mind, or already is, in Ben Johnson, so if the offense takes off like many think it will he will get looks for sure.....IMO.

Declan Doyle is to Luke Getsy as Ben Johnson is to Matt Eberflus. Wow, Doyle was impressively professional. He seems smart and confident. I think he might write things on the clipboard more than just hold it.

nothing is ever a slam dunk in the draft but having 3 OT's selected in the top 9 was looking like a distinct possibility by draft time and if we were privy to that info, so was Poles.

This. It was never mentioned the Bear were trying to trade up for a T. They were looking for Jeanty. I'm kinda glad it went this way because if they were able to, no Loveland and at the least, one of our next 3 picks wouldn't be here either.

I agree. I like the value of having Loveland, Burden, Trapilo, and Turner over Jeanty and possibly two of the others.

I really wanted Banks, but I’m already impressed by Ozzy. He played under a NFL coach at BC and his intelligence and professionalism really stand out. I just have this feeling he’s going to grab the LT job and won’t let it go.

Turner has a great attitude and just loves the game and everything about it. It’s hard not to get excited by him.

Burden was an amazing value at 39.

The Loveland pick has been widely praised inside the NFL community and was not something I saw coming.

What excites me most right now is my perception of the Bears’ staff. I think this might be the finest collection of coaches they’ve ever assembled. Obviously, it all centers on Ben being the man we expect him to be.

I can’t think of a better top to bottom staff.

Ryan and Fangio were awesome D coordinators that were paired with head coaches that weren’t as good as them.

The depth and quality of the position coaches really stands out too.

I’m sick of being disappointed. I am ready to enjoy some consistent winning and I do think they are on an ascending path.

It's amazing how his board changes from the beginning of March until the draft. He's way off early and as close as can be expected by draft day.

I concur but I would really be happy if we had Henderson over WR3. I know there is a lot of upside to WR3 but Henderson really would have fit a need he would have provided Day 1 impact that fits perfectly in BJ's scheme. I have concerns about WR3 when he doesn't get his way. Damnit NE!!

I think we all wanted Henderson there but it would have also cost us Tripilo and Turner. Big drop off at T and DL by our original 3rd. It's what makes drafts so interesting.

I do think Henderson would have been the pick if available even though I believe Burden is the better football player. You’re right, Henderson would have had a huge role right out of the gate.

However, I think you’ll see Burden is going to be a contributor from the beginning too. He’ll be a fixture in 11 personnel. Ben will figure out ways to get him the ball in space.

You keep referring to him as WR3, but in reality he’s going to be a dangerous playmaker when given the chance regardless of his spot on the depth chart.

Dennis Allen said the #Bears will develop Shemar Turner at DT and NT before thinking of giving him any work at edge rusher.

I remember posters arguing with me against DT rotations having them play 2 spots situationally before this draft. I think Turner will eventually play all 3 spots in this D but 2 is plenty for a rookie to start the season.

Thats interesting, so either they sign another DE or dexter is going to get snaps there?

I cant imagine the rotation will just be sweat, dayo, booker

What am i missing here? Why would it of cost us Trapillo and Turner? We would of used the #39 pick that we used on Burden for Henderson and still had #41 to trade down with so it only cost us LB87 but we substitute him for Henderson.

I guess it's Dexter that will get the big push outside reps. Maybe they want to concentrate on Turner's ability to get off and stay low/penetrate. They're already on the D rookie lineman about keeping their butts low. Not currently a Dexter attribute. It's odd because it seemed like he dropped his ass for a bit and it got high again. Probably the staff being so F'd up last year not staying on him.
