No.

Cole kmet is better than him and only a year and a half older.

I have no clue why people want to kick a guy to the curb who was a top 10 TE prior to waldron.

Too many cooks in the kitchen. We dont need a guy complaining about targets in a contract year

Who said anything about kicking Kmet to the curb? Ben loves to utilize 12. Pitts, Kmet, DJ, and Rome would be pretty damn sexy.

They have absolutely nothing behind Kmet. If he goes down, they have a massive hole. Also, I’m not sure that Kmet is “better” than Pitts. Kyle’s ceiling is way above Cole’s and I like Kmet.

Maybe for blocking purposes but LaPorta is the only TE on their roster to get meaningful yards these last two years. It’s not even close

Last year’s TE2 only got 100 yards. (8th on their roster)

So you don’t like the idea of Pitts for 72?

How many targets did their #2 TE have and how many snaps did he play?

Ben loves to run the ball, we have our #2 TE

You just described an issue for basically every player on every team in the NFL. If laporta goes down the lions have no one either.

Would you trade 72 for Kyle Pitts? He’s still only 24 years old and hasn’t scratched the surface of what he could be.

Naw, not dealing with negotiations on that new contract. He’s too talented to have the numbers he has, so I unfortunately think he has motivational issues (“love for the game”… “putting in the work”) and I’d not be interested in dealing with those at his price tag. Maybe a much later round, and I’ll take on the one year he may be motivated and see how it is.

No because Pitts is going to be a FA and I don’t want to spend money on him.

72 should be for RB, Guard/Center, LB or safety IMO.

Or to package with one of the 2nds to get back into round 1 if someone they really like falls.

Always thought it would be a good idea to trade up into the mid 20's with that 3rd rounder if a guy like simmons starts dropping.

Its like you guys legit learned nothing from last years expirement.

You dont need more than 3 receiving weapons on a good NFL offense.

Ben Johnson will have kmet in the pro bowl this year because he actually knows how to scheme his guys open

I think the Lions had 4 good weapons. 2 WR. 1TE and RB (both players)

Just pointing out the RB’s got a ton of usage too in that offense as receivers

If they walked out of day 1 with a long term LT and DL Poles could draft punters the next two days and I would still be happy

Grant gives me Akiem Hicks vibes. He is a rare athlete who absolutely can anchor that line for many years.

Dexter, Billings, Jarrett and Grant all rotating in on the DL would be nasty.

If he’s Hicks, you draft him and you don’t think twice!

I’m sure my googling skills aren’t cutting it, but I’ve not found one inspiring success story of someone who tore a patella tendon. Simmons is a major risk.

I guess the Bucs don’t understand that rule either. Why re-sign Godwin when they have Evans, Otten, and a fast emerging McMillan?

Godwin makes four. Tampa Bay was number three in overall offense. I guess they need to consult with an expert.

I don’t mind having more than 4. I just don’t want a guy about to be a FA

Maybe the Cowboys get an itch for Jeanty if here's there, or some team convinces themselves that they need to move up to #10 to secure Dart. But yea, you're right.
If Genty is there at 10 I think the Bears will draft him; Unless Campbell is still on the board, but its hard to see both being there at 10

Really hoping the Bears grab one of the good S prospects at 72, both S spots are basically open after this season and neither of the '25 starters have done enough so far to give you warm and fuzzies about bringing them back. Brisker missed 12 games from his 3rd concussion in 3 years as a pro - thats a red flag big enough to hang in Tiananmen square and Byard will be a 33 year old JAG after this coming season.
