Bob McGinn received some damning information on Josh Simmons.

“McGinn wrote of Simmons: "Removed from consideration by one team for makeup issues. Another team expressed serious reservations. 'Kind of a f-----," said a fourth scout. "His (issues) are more football character. He has a complete bull(bleep) sense of urgency, like a total finesse player. Mental is an issue. Lacks power, struggles to anchor. Fundamentals are poor. Plays like a guy that was at a JUCO and just came here."

This was the talk in the Todd McShay podcast there are character concerns for certain guys.

I know reading is a skill...

Cole is only 3.2 mil dead cap next year, 1.6mil if post 6/1 release.
Admittedly I missed that but he’d be a better trade candidate than a cut

Who is the OT you're targeting in the second round? Because over the past three years there's been an average of 1.34 OTs drafted in round two. There's going to be a run on offensive tackles before the Bears pick again in the second round regardless of whether or not it's the smart play. Teams will talk themselves into it because they need OTs.

So the Bears need depth on both sides of the ball but yeah target a TE because Kmet's lack of targets led to a drop in production that people are panicking about.

Campbell and Membou likely go 4 and 7 and if the Bears don't go OT Banks probably goes 11 to the 49ers. Add in the Dolphins and Texans who need OTs and suddenly there's no one left in the second round.

That's Campbell Membou Banks Simmons and Connerly in the first round that's no one left in round two.

When did I ever mention targeting a TE? That’s one thing I do not want to do. Not sure where you’re getting that.

As far as 2nd round OL prospects, I don’t feel you need to target a pure LT that can start. I’d look for someone like Donovan Jackson or Jonah savaiinaea who should be plus caliber guards, but also fill in at LT in a pinch if Braxton isn’t ready and/or Kiran doesn’t show improvement. I expect Braxton to start sooner than later though once he’s fully healed and rehabbed.

Ersery. Can't wait to see you trash him now while probably never watching him play.

Unnecessary attack on Caleb just because he is an easy target. Every player takes vacations and it's not his fault the magazine wanted an interview.

I still prefer he keeps his emotions out of the media but this was bs.

My only worry would be getting the right value in return for him and not because he isn't worth at least a 3rd, IMO, but because we'd be trying to trade him with such a strong TE draft right in front of us.

What isn't true? That Caleb spoke openly about the non secret that Eberflus was at the core of last seasons disaster and "from Denmark of all places." Who gives a ****? The guy at the 12:12 mark has more insight than Chris Canty.

Doesn't mean he's wrong because you don't like him. He makes valid points 100%. The base of it i guess would be "does Caleb care about his fame more than he cares about football" and that's not saying he doesn't care about football, it's just saying does he care about his fame a little too much. Absolutely valid.

On pick 72 - I know I keep talking about my Wolverines, but how does this board react to Josaiah Stewart?

Clearly I need to watch more teams! Anyway...

He's undersized and needs refining, but I see him as a future OLB that can play with TEs and blitz as needed. In the immediate case, he is depth at LB and a ST contributor, and he can grow into a SAM that also subs in on blitz packages. I'm not expecting third rounders to start in their first year, so I see it as a proper investment.

You are obviously missing the point or just don't like that someone is making valid points about who Bears fans need to be our franchise QB that takes us back to relevance. Doesn't matter if anything is true or not.

What valid point was made? And what's true? What are these concerns that you have harbored for over a yr?
That doing an honest interview while visiting Denmark somehow inhibits Caleb Williams ability to excel at QB?

FFS get a life
