Honestly, by all accounts, Ersery is the bigger project of the two. Given where the Bears are, they could be in immediate need of a starter. A project doesn't really fit on this roster. Kiran is a project already. Ersery may develop to be better, but Trapilo is probably the better guy day 1, and that's what the Bears need right now.
Plus, he played for Bill O’ Brien so he has a better idea of what a NFL coach expects. It should help his transition to the pros.

Warren's limitation in blocking is his baby length arms. Therefore he can't block edges because they get into his chest easily. That's why pennstate generally had him blocking lb or cb or Crack blocking on the edge
He does have T-Rex arms but should be able to compensate for that by adding strength and improving technique but probably dont want him blocking DEs one on one a lot in the passing game.

Where the Bears' 2025 draft picks ranked on pre-draft big boards

LB Ruben Hyppolite II

This is the most questionable pick by the Bears in the entire draft, and it wasn't a surprise to see Ruben Hyppolite II didn't land on any consensus big boards (that ranged from the top 100 to top 350). But Chicago must've seen something in him because they made him a fourth-round selection. Hyppolite has impressive speed and could compete for a depth role, but right now this looks like a big reach for the Bears.

This may be true but when they traded down from 41 to 56, they didn't know which one would be there.
Many boards had Ersery ranked ahead, but Jeremiah had Ozzy ranked ahead so thats why I included Ersery in the mix.
I do love the BO'B over the top love for Ozzy so let's hope most of it is true and he pans out.

That's a good point. My main point is that it worked out better this way anyway. Maybe it's just dumb luck, but Poles may have also thought that he could gamble on either one being there later and being happy to take whichever fell.

His ability to run a Whip route is like nothing I've ever seen from his position. His ability to sell and then sink his hips and pirouette on a dime is really something else for anyone, let alone a player of his size. He creates separation like a top tier slot wr.

It makes you shake your head that this guy is 6’ 6” with that type of fluidity and agility.

I really never had him on my radar at 10, but I get it. Especially, with Burden in the mix too.

So many options…

So many ways to create mismatches…

Whether they’re in 11 or 12 personnel, they’re going to just have so many ways to attack defenses and for the first time maybe ever, I actually trust the HC/play caller to put it all together, and to fully exploit the defenses weaknesses

Think it was reported that because Hypolite's Pro Day was so late that he missed the deadline for the drafniks rankings. Brugler in particular noted the pro day would have led to him upgrading his projection if it had come earlier in the draft cycle.

It was kind of shocking when they took him. It’s quite rare when I haven’t even heard of the player. However, I read a number of NFL scouts had their eyes opened by his pro day showing. Plus, he played a ton of football at Maryland.

Poles didn’t select this guy in a vacuum. DA had to be in on this.

“Asked what stands out on Turner's tape, Allen said: "The effort and the finish. That's what he does as well as anybody. When you talk about a 290-pound guy, the way he plays so hard on every single snap is impressive to see."

Turner impressed the Bears when he met with them at the NFL Combine.

"You could tell that he loved football," Allen said. "He's just got a tough mentality about him and those are the type of guys that we want to bring into the building and then have an opportunity to coach them and mold them and teach them."

From the above post on X too…

“Allen is also eager to mold fourth-round pick Ruben Hyppolite II, a fast and athletic linebacker from Maryland. The 5-11, 236-pounder was not invited to the combine but ran a blazing 4.39 40 at his Pro Day, boosting his draft stock and spawning league-wide interest. He ultimately visited 10 teams, including the Bears.

"It was a great '30' visit," Allen said. "He's mature, he's self-aware about who he is as a football player. We went into the draft saying we have to try to increase our athleticism and speed, and he certainly does that at the linebacker position."

Hyppolite's maturity made a lasting impression on Allen.

"You spend some time with these guys and you kind of get a feel for what their personality is going to be like," Allen said. "He's got a serious personality and he's kind of got a pro's mentality already, and that's a good starting point."

Hyppolite joins the Bears after spending the past five seasons at Maryland, where he appeared in 51 games and compiled 236 tackles, 3.0 sacks, 13 tackles-for-loss, one interception and six pass breakups.”

Regarding Frazier…

"He's got really good ball skills," Allen said. "He's got speed, he's got size, he's got length. Those are all three things that we value really at any position on our defense but in particular at the corner position."

The 30 visits that Hyppolite and Frazier made to Halas Hall were instrumental in them becoming Bears.

"You just get to sit back and observe how they interact with everybody in the building, whether it be the scouting assistants or the training room or coaching staff, the front office personnel," Allen said.

"You get a chance to see how they interact with all those people and you kind of get a feel for, 'Is this a guy who really loves football and is wanting to come in and go to work and do the things that we're going to ask him to do?' That's why those visits are important."
