Since this is a NFL Draft thread, I liked this post on X. By the way, I think Hampton will be a monster playing for Harbaugh.

Harbaugh and Gregg Roman are going love Oronde Gadsden II. That young man is a fcking weapon out of the FLEX TE/SLOT/FLANKER.

He's not a blocking TE, he is a weapon, and Harbaugh will use him accordingly.

Over here in the Adirondacks of NYS there are 2 players that I really paid my attention to over the last 5 years. The first was Jared Verse in 2020/2021 during the plandemic when he played down in SUNY Albany for the Great Danes, and if there was a football equivalent of a sparring session for a prize fighter against a human drum then it was Jared Verse taking names for SUNY Albany.

Verse was fcking everywhere on the field in 2021 as a 3 point stance, hand in the dirt DE, as a 2 point stance OLB in odd fronts as well as a hybrid Joker/Leo in a shaded 4 mam front and was just ad dominant in an off the ball LB role as he was as a passrusher.

It is very rare that us backwoods goatroapers get to see a player anywheres near Verses caliber among the SUNY ranks. He was fun to watch.

The second player was Oronde Gadsden from 2022 up to the current date for the Syracuse Orangemen. Gadsden is going carve up NFL secondaries. If Gadsden stays healthy he is going to go down as one of the absolute steals of this draft as a 5th round pick

Gregg Roman and Jim Harbaugh are going to love having Gadsden in that offense and they will use him

Does anyone have opinions on the two UDFA Safeties Major Burns and Tysheem Johnson?

Johnson is pretty small but he played a lot of good football for Oregon. I thought he would get drafted.

I don’t know much about Burns.

@knoxville7, can you give us any intel on Burns? You’re my “go to” SEC guy.
The only thing I have to offer on those two is PTBD from safeties named Major.

Shemar Stewart not participating in rookie camp until he gets his contract...

...even with the standard injury waivers for rookies.

TIL the 17th overall pick thinks he has leverage.

It’s ironic because he has to be considered insurance because of the Hendrickson situation.

I’m sure it will be resolved soon but it’s still kind of funny.

I’m not sure it does get resolved. At least not as in Hendrickson staying. I think he gets dealt at the deadline or they lose him in FA.

I was talking about resolution with the rookie. I think you’re right about Trey.

Ah, that makes sense. Yeah, the rook will sign soon. Still think he’s going to be a major bust

I said I would not ***** no matter which player they selected but I’m not sure I would have been able to keep my promise if they drafted him.

I never really thought they would and I didn’t see Loveland coming either.

It’s crazy but I knew 100 percent when NE was on the clock at 38, that Henderson or Burden was their pick at 39.

When Banks went off the board at 9, I had no idea what was going to happen at 10.

Same. Didn’t see Loveland coming but it made all the sense in the world after the first 9 fell the way they did. I always did like Loveland over Warren (wasn’t nearly as high on Warren as others), so I’m glad they picked him.

I was so bummed when Henderson went right before the bears, but burden is one hell of a consolation prize.

Next off season I’m sure it will be geared toward DE, RB, and S.

I would have been happy with Henderson, but I think Burden is the better player.

One of the Bears’ UDFAs, Xavier Carlton had 18 sacks at Cal. Stewart would need several more seasons at A&M to sniff that number. His lack of production is really troubling for a top 20 pick.

Henderson vs Burden is interesting. You could argue burden has the higher ceiling. I think Henderson on this team makes the bigger impact year 1. I’m more than fine with LB3, though. Still plenty of time to add a RB and I’m sure they will be drafting or signing one next off season.
