Turner is going to have a major impact on the Bears defensive front this season. Very quick and disruptive DT.“Asked what stands out on Turner's tape, Allen said: "The effort and the finish. That's what he does as well as anybody. When you talk about a 290-pound guy, the way he plays so hard on every single snap is impressive to see."
Turner impressed the Bears when he met with them at the NFL Combine.
"You could tell that he loved football," Allen said. "He's just got a tough mentality about him and those are the type of guys that we want to bring into the building and then have an opportunity to coach them and mold them and teach them."
Honestly, the more I read about these guys, the more I love each pick. I think Ben/Poles/Allen did a great job with research, top 30 visits, and drafting what came their way at each pick. When those tiers fell, the traded back. They definitely got sniped in a few places—Banks in the 1st and RBs, especially Henderson, in the 2nd. So they went with plan B and I think overall they had a great draft—all the way through. You saw that a lot of the assistant coaches had input, as well, so it was just Ben/Poles with Allen it was WR coaches, etc.Dennis Allens report from the mother site ; Bears DC Dennis Allen evaluates draft picks

"He's athletic, he's powerful and he plays with the right temperament," Allen told ChicagoBears.com. "He plays the game aggressively, and that's what we want our guys to be able to do. We felt like he was a great fit. He's smart, he's tough and he's highly competitive, and those are three characteristics that we're looking for."

Allen is also eager to mold fourth-round pick Ruben Hyppolite II, a fast and athletic linebacker from Maryland. The 5-11, 236-pounder was not invited to the combine but ran a blazing 4.39 40 at his Pro Day, boosting his draft stock and spawning league-wide interest. He ultimately visited 10 teams, including the Bears.
"It was a great '30' visit," Allen said. "He's mature, he's self-aware about who he is as a football player. We went into the draft saying we have to try to increase our athleticism and speed, and he certainly does that at the linebacker position."

"What stood out to me was his thirst for knowledge," Allen said. "He understands he doesn't have the whole picture quite yet, so just the willingness to want to work to get better and understand what we're doing from a defensive standpoint."
"He's got really good ball skills," Allen said. "He's got speed, he's got size, he's got length. Those are all three things that we value really at any position on our defense but in particular at the corner position."
GOD FORBID we have talent and depth. Loveland doesn't mean Kmet is gone, but it may mean he's TE2, and that's an important role to play in this OFF. He's never been elite. Burden doesn't mean DJM or Odunze aren't great or are going anywhere, we now have THREE VG WRs instead of two and scraps. Depth, youth for the future, protection against injury, and schemes—holy crap. Whether it's DJM, Odunze, Burden, Loveland, and Swift or DJM, Odunze, Loveland, Kmet, and Swift—we have options. And we'll see how Swift does with the improved OL. Maybe he stays, maybe he doesn't. But he'll get a shot.Another one that kills me is because they drafted Loveland and Burden, they have to be cutting Kmet and trading DJ Moore.
I prefer, they’re trying to build a really dangerous offense with some serious depth!
We can’t have that!
How about, “they drafted TE 2 at ten.”
Well, no they didn’t.
We have the OPTION now of paying him or trading him, or letting him walk. If he goes at 30, Odunze and Burden step up. That's how you build a team.My guess is we hold onto DJ for the next 2 years. I don't see him being back at 30 years old with those cap hits in those years, but I've been wrong more than I've been right so who knows.

Well since i never said the Bears were better off without Moore then i would guess i don't think that but that's just me...LOL. Why is it people always have to say the person they have the disagreement with said something they didn't actually say to try to get the win in the debate? I never said they were going to do this either just in case that one comes next. Simply said it would make sense if they did do it.And your point is pretty stupid. Because they did trade and sign for him. And they aren’t going to trade him. You are honestly foolish if you think the Bears are better off without Moore.
You're a pussy who blocks people, so you won't see this, but it is your opinion that they wouldn't have signed DJ Moore to that deal if the knew the depth chart is what it is now. Poles also thought they were a playoff team last season. My point is pretty clear. They more than likely wouldn't have signed DJ Moore to a new big deal if they had the depth chart they have now.
Yes and their OL and entire D are probably going to once again keep them from being an elite team.
Simply said it would make sense if they did do it.
No doubt, no chance they get cut this year, although I think there's a small chance Kmet gets traded (but I doubt it).Regarding the Bears, none of the players being discussed getting cut or traded are huge drags on the cap.
They might actually have some quality depth. I think it’s a huge positive.
Yes to me it does but with adding everything else i said would need to happen with Odunze and Burden looking legit and Loveland looking legit. This is my opinion which i'm okay with nobody else agreeing with. Thinking like a GM.Does it?
Trading the best veteran WR on the team when they’re developing a 2nd year QB, “makes sense?”
Thinking like a GM
I’m going to say the ones the Bears have been running for yearsLOL, what scheme prefers the worse route runner and pass blocker?
I bet they wish they did lol.Yes, do they have a 3rd top WR and two top TE's?
It’s funny how many Bears fans were bashing anyone saying they should select a RB high, but then by round 5 everyone’s losing their minds. Kyle looks damn good with limited injury history and flawless ball handling. This is a really good pick. Maybe Swift will teach him how to catch.
