Not Wirfs. Wirfs is a freak of nature. His athleticism was basically off the charts. Even his ability was never really questioned. He also hit the desired 34” arms. I feel like he took a hit cause he was a RT and there were highly touted LTs in the same draft.

True, wirfs is more athletic and has slightly longer arms (34 vs 33 1/2). Wirfs wingspan wasn’t listed but banks is 84 3/8 which is 90th percentile.

Either way, membou prob compares physically and athletically to wirfs more. I was just comparing banks as someone who shouldn’t have been there at 9 and there will be some teams regretting their decision….mainly the patriots lol

I definitely would have taken Banks Jr. over Campbell or Membou too.

Definitely both over Campbell. Membou and banks is a close call for me. Honestly, you can’t really go wrong with either one. I think Membou could play LT if needed, but it’s still a projection. If I needed a sure fire LT, Banks would be the guy.

Wright is a really good player; if he can make the switch to LT, I am all for it.
If you read the whole tweet, Poles dodged answering that question directly, but said specifically that the other 3 tackles would all be competing at LT. So sounds like Wright's staying at right unless the other 3 all fail.

I argued with a few on here about Banks Jr. being an OT in the NFL. I never thought for a minute he would kick inside.

Here’s some interesting commentary on him.

“New Orleans went offensive line in the first round for the second consecutive year, but this particular move made sense around the league because Kelvin Banks Jr., in the eyes of scouts, was a clear-cut top-10 pick, despite many mock drafts having him in the teens throughout the process. "He's awesome. He's [five-time Pro Bowl tackle] Laremy Tunsil," an NFC executive said.”

I’m happy with Loveland and believe Johnson will turn him into a matchup nightmare, but Banks Jr. was my guy 100 percent.

The Saints have been pretty savvy obtaining OT's in the past and certainly place a much higher emphasis on that then Poles does.
Confirming this notion, if Poles truly coveted Banks it would have been pretty easy to leapfrog the Saints by trading with the Panthers at 8 for minimal draft capital. The Panthers still could have had selected Tet at 10 w/o any concern as the Saints didn't even take a WR in the entire draft and no team was trading up to 9 to grab Tet. But that ship has sailed and now it's time to hop on the Ozzy train. ( both Osbourne and Trapilo )

AHHHH. Oops.

I don't do Twitter, so I didn't click the link and I missed the bulk of the tweet. Hope the other 3 don't fail!

Does anyone have opinions on the two UDFA Safeties Major Burns and Tysheem Johnson?

Johnson is pretty small but he played a lot of good football for Oregon. I thought he would get drafted.

I don’t know much about Burns.

@knoxville7, can you give us any intel on Burns? You’re my “go to” SEC guy.

Look up Greg G’s latest pod on YouTube and he talks about both the safeties and the other UDFA’s if you’re interested. If you can handle listening to him

Maybe they could have traded with the Panthers but it’s possible the panthers could have been concerned about the saints taking tet at 9…if so, it wouldn’t have been worth the risk just for minimal trade compensation…it’s also possible that the bears would have taken banks at 10, but didn’t feel a trade up was worth it if they could get Loveland considering they already have Braxton/Kiran, and I’m sure they were planning to go OT in the 2nd, which they executed.

Is 290 too light in the ass for you? Because he weighed in at 290 at the combine.
A little. Linemen are getting bigger and bigger on both sides of the ball, they're getting stronger and somehow getting quicker too.

The difference between now and even just 15 years ago is significant enough to see. I see more and more 320-330 pound DTs with the twitch and burst of an early 2000s 3TECH.

Then you have interior offensive lineman that are weighing at 330-360 pounds and can also move on their feet. Every pound counts when your an undersized DT attacking behemoths.

Sure, but Aaron Donald Donald played at 258 and didn't have any problems. Not saying this guy is the next Aaron Donald but 290 with speed leverage and technique is plenty big.

He ain't no Aaron Donald. Donald was a human ant with his raw power being able to get under the tits of interior linemen to basically bench press them out of the way.

Stephen Paea was like that as a SHADE also. I would have given my left nut to have had prime Aaron Donald and Stephen Paea as the starting 3TECH/SHADE tandem.

I see more Henry Melton before the knee injury with Turner and I'm fine with that if it's at all accurate.
