On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being the angriest and 10 being the most pleased, how would you feel about each of these selections if the Bears took them at 10:

1. Will Campbell
2. Armand Membou
3. Kelvin Banks
4. Ashton Jeanty
5. Omarion Hampton
6. Tyler Warren
7. Colston Loveland
8. Mason Graham
9. Derrick Harmon
10. Walter Nolen
11. Will Johnson
12. Jahdae Barron
13. Jalon Walker
14. Mykel Williams
15. James Pierce
16. Mike Green
17. Shemar Stewart
i would take any of them over Stewart. I just see Shemar getting to the NFL and hitting this wall where “everyone is as athletic as I am but some of these guys are master technicians and I don’t know wtf I’m doing” that he never gets over.

It was a long shot before but probably 0% Membou falls to Bears at 10.

If he did, are you comfortable moving him to LT? Every college start (30 total) for him were at RT. At Missouri, he never played anywhere else on their line.

This is a pretty cool, and realistic, big board. He blends some consensus rankings, his analytical models, and his tape evaluation. He also weighs for position… something I ranted about here the other day. Below is a quote from the link and basically my exact thoughts when I see someone say “Jeanty is the 3rd best player in the draft”. The statement means nothing if he won’t be drafted that high. Anyway… cool board.

What makes my 2025 NFL Draft big board different than others is it actually adjust for positional value. I still don't understand why most big boards are based on "best players" yet that's not how these big board rankers would actually draft players when on the clock. How is it helpful to the reader? I now have to guess how you'd re-arrange the draft board to adjust for positional value? That's the hard part!!!

Lol PFF grade.
Point was he didn't suck, not some absolute. Have you got any other ledger we can use or just your personal biases?

Who pissed in your cheerios? Maybe pour a fresh bowl and lighten up Francis.

Bob McGinn received some damning information on Josh Simmons.

“McGinn wrote of Simmons: "Removed from consideration by one team for makeup issues. Another team expressed serious reservations. 'Kind of a f-----," said a fourth scout. "His (issues) are more football character. He has a complete bull(bleep) sense of urgency, like a total finesse player. Mental is an issue. Lacks power, struggles to anchor. Fundamentals are poor. Plays like a guy that was at a JUCO and just came here."

That would put me off more than the surgery and if true, that's not the sort of guy you expect to do the work required to come back 100%.

For the “draft an OT at 10” crowd, I’m assuming they believe whoever will be there is going to join the top 10 elite NFL LT crowd? I don’t see it personally but maybe someone like Banks/Conerly will. I’m just not a fan of using a top 10 pick on an OT that doesn’t project as elite when you already have more than a capable starter.
It's the totality of a couple broad factors for me:
  1. Jones' impending free agency. If he starts and plays like he's capable of playing, he'll get paid $20 mil AAV next offseason, or more depending on how the cap goes up and how BJ's offense helps him look good. Between him and all the other guys we've got money in, that's a lot to spend on the O-line. Thuney needs to be extended if only for another year or two and that won't be cheap, then you've got Darnell Wright coming down the pike in a couple years after that.
  2. We still want depth there. If you take Banks then you're penciling him in at starting LT starting in 2026 at the latest. For this season, you're throwing him in the mix along with an injured Brax and a developing Amegadjie and letting the best man win. You're signaling to these guys and the team at large that they'll need to perform to play. If Banks starts the season at LT then hopefully you'll have a nice swing tackle in Amegadjie with likely trade suitors for Jones. If Jones starts then you let him ball out, sign a big FA deal in 2026 and scoop up that 3rd round comp pick with both Banks and Amegadjie having at least one year of NFL experience to take over for him.

Edit to add: Banks is no Joe Alt prospect but he seems to have the makings of a very good all-around if unspectacular LT prospect. I'll take that on a rookie deal for the next 5 years over Jones next year for $20+ mil. This draft is deep on the DL and RB too so you address those in the 2nd and you continue to make the investment in protecting your franchise QB long term.

I like Banks, but I feel like his draft stock is going to move up cause his measurables and we'll miss out.
Back in January, I said the above about Banks and it feels the momentum is finally carrying him to where I’m wondering if he may go higher than our pick.

I know the trenches guys will hate this but if this is true and they go BPA...

It's tough to find a lot of consensus on players in this year's draft. However, almost every team I talk to believes in the top 2 TE's. Warren & Loveland (some prefer on over the other) are consistently viewed as top 10 players in the class.

If other teams see it this way and the Bear want to go elsewhere, it could also help with a trade down.

That's the thing about the draft. I don't know if there's any real movement or "momentum" actually going on. The NFL front-offices aren't as swayed as the fans are by the talk in the media and so on. They've got what they're looking for and pore over the tape all offseason. I would guess that they've been ready for the draft since a week after free agency, with the only thing that could really change things for them being pro days.

For us fans, we've had a month to mentally masturbate over all this and react to these guys over here saying "Banks sucks and is barely a first round pick" to some other guys over here going "I don't get why they're saying he's barely a first round pick, dude's near the top 10" with that "momentum" just being where we're currently at in that back-and-forth pundit cycle.
