I think we can get a starter at 72. I wouldn't give up 41 and 72 for a guy with that bad of an injury.
I wouldn’t hate it, but I like Simmons a lot too. I doubt he slips out of the first though.

Mebou. Banks. Conerly or Campbell. Just get one of them. Not listed in any order of preference
I think I prefer one of the guys who has played LT. I just get nervous taking a guy who has never played LT and trying to make him an LT. Although membou could end up great depth inside and eventually a long term replacement at one of the G spots

My favorite teams
  1. New York Mets
  1. New York Knicks
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. New York Rangers
  1. Syracuse Orange
A few things:

1. I think Davis was very lucky to be the right guy, at the right time. He had one hell 3-4 year run in the league. It was also over 25 years ago. It's pretty dumb to think that just because Terrell Davis was a needle in the haystack a lifetime ago that suddenly a guy that is slow on tape and slow in the 40 will be the next Davis.

2. Davis was aided by that Denver team being just a great team - the OL, the scheme, and having a HOF QB. Again, right guy at the right place and time.

3. I do think some guys stand out where they are strong in a way that they do not lose a step when the pads come on. I can't remember now, but I would not be shocked to see Davis fall into that category. I always felt Urlacher was also like that - Urlacher was never considered 'slow', but his 40 time was 4.57 and yet you would see him run down guys that had much faster 40's. I do believe at least some of that was that those smaller, faster guys slowed a bit when the pads came on and Urlacher just didn't slow down with pads on. Again, I think Davis was probably similar.

4. IMO, overall speed of the game is faster now then it was 25-30 years ago. Hard to say how a Terrell Davis would be in today's game when modern linebackers now run 4.5 and sub 4.5 40's consistently and with the strength to keep the speed with pads on.
That's all great with a lot of speculation but again, i didn't write the article and his point still stands even with the speculation. I think some guys just carry the weight of all the football gear they wear better than others and are faster than some are with all the gear on and that could be Skat but i'm not gonna speculate that to be true.

If anyone has been paying attention the past few years. Poles has been extremely transparent, almost to a fault. It is Definitely lying season but he doesn't seem to partake in it. I think Johnson's feelings about Warren are legit. Because there is a lot to like with the player. Doesn't mean they will draft him over player X or Y.

And top 30 visits end up getting drafted especially with their higher selections…

Warren is doing a private workout for the Bears.

I'm guessing in the 2nd. Either Judkins or Johnson. I do think they would take jeanty if available but I think LV is taking him. If Campbell makes it to 10, I think he's probably their guy. I just have no idea if he makes it there.

My projection on top 10 is:
Titans: ward
Cleveland: Carter
NYG: sanders
NE: hunter
Jax: Graham
LV: jeanty
Jets: Warren
Panthers: walker
NO: ?? Membou/Johnson/mykel/tet. Literally no idea at this pick
Bears: Campbell
I think NO goes with Jaxson Dart

So our starting LT will be limited all offseason. Then we have a guy from Yale.

Bears are taking a LT at 10.

Possibly, if The Browns or Giants select Sanders and the Pats have the option to take Carter/Hunter and the Bears agree with this assessment.

Patriots view Will Campbell as a left tackle

At the league meetings here Monday morning, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel said that he views Will Campbell, who is seen as the best offensive lineman in this draft class, as a left tackle, which would fill a glaring need for the Patriots on the offensive line.

Given that, signs continue to point to the Patriots strongly considering drafting Campbell at No. 4 unless one of the top two prospects — edge rusher Abdul Carter or cornerback/receiver Travis Hunter — falls to them. While some in the league questioned whether Campbell could stick at left tackle given his short arms and wingspan (Campbell’s arms measured in at 32 5/8 inches at the combine, but came in at 33 inches during his LSU pro day measurements), Vrabel doesn’t seem to view that as an issue, since he said Monday he sees Campbell as a left tackle.

“I think you have to,” Vrabel said. “I don’t understand how you can watch him play in the SEC — which is the best conference in college football, against guys that are going to get drafted at that position — so I don’t think you have to project it, you can just actually watch and say there’s the snaps at left tackle, evaluate it, and see what you think.”

Don't know about at #10 but gotta think they take one with the first few picks. If they don't and they are worried about Braxton then they could always turn to free agency and sign someone like Tyron Smith or DJ Humphries. That's if either of them would sign for what could end up being a backup role.

I didn’t watch much college football this last season. What is so special about Warren? He could very well be legit but one solid year of college play scares me a bit. But again I am the wrong person to be judging.

The barron visit is interesting. Wouldn't expect that and wouldn't be thrilled if they took him over will Johnson if going db (wouldn't really like db in general)

was at pro Day and will/should be ready for camp.
  • T Josh Simmons (PFF Big Board Rank: 18)
    • Height: 6-foot-5
    • Weight: 312 pounds
    • Hand: 10 3/8 inches
    • Arm: 34 1/8 inches
    • Wingspan: 81 1/4 inches
    • Bench: 34 reps
He's got all the numbers/measurements you want for a LT but that injury is a hard one to come back being yourself again.

I can't remember, will the Bears gets an extra and early veteran minicamp this year due to having a new coach? Didn't that use to be a thing? I vaguely recall those could happen before the draft even. If that is the case, it would be good for the coaches to get whatever eyes than can on their current trenches in figuring out those priorities between OL and DL.

yup, fixed that post. projected as full go by camp.
Don’t know if I trust that. Could be agent speak. That’s supposed to be a long recovery injury I heard. But that’s a doctor question so who knows what’s actually accurate

You might hate if you try to find a single person who recovered from a torn patella to become a great player.

I wouldn’t draft him because he’s a one year, super senior wonder.

However, he does bring real skill to the table. He’s a tough dude that definitely can block. He can run it out of the Wildcat, he can throw it, and he has excellent hands but he doesn’t separate well. I thought the PSU guys in general were a rugged bunch that was held back by an awful QB.

I’m not going to be upset if they do draft him but OT or Edge is really what should be happening. A pivot should be to CB, not TE.

A coach like Johnson probably gets a lot out of a prospect like Warren.
