My favorite teams
well thankfully you posted this as a new thread cuz there hasnt been draft talk or TE draft talk anywhere else!!
Trapillo is my favorite of the group
I like Belton... maybe Grant too. I also like a flier on Logan Brown. For Belton and Brown, I already hear speculation that they'll end up needing to move inside. For Grant, I expect he'll be a 2nd round pick due to the lack of talent, which I assume the Bears won't do on a developmental piece. That said, I don't think any of those guys provide much immediate competition for the starting LT spot and I think all of them (including the guys currently on the roster) are unlikely to be the Bears starting LT in a couple of years. If they are, we probably don't have a top 15 LT in the league.Been reading a little bit about the later round tackles. There’s a few. Emphasis on a few. Ozzy Trapillo, Charles Grant, Anthony Belton, Jalen Travis, Myles Hinton. I’m looking forward to The Beast coming out. Dane Brugler does such a good job with his write ups on the middle to late round guys.
What are his rankings?Brandon Thorn’s pro comp for Charles Grant was Terron Armsted. That caught my attention
I never saw a list, but he has Grant as OT8.What are his rankings?
Who would you choose?Of all the players I’ve heard mentioned at 10, this would lead me to ripping it.
We'd definitely have the better shot at finding a legit T/LT at #10 but i'm not gonna say a T/LT can't be found in another round when there's so many examples of T/LT's that have been found everywhere in the draft over the years.Unfortunately, if we want a OT, it has to be at 10. There's nothing at OT in this draft.
Yeah i think a lot of people do. The guy has all the tools and is even better than Warren at some things. probably a better blocker but it's close and probably more athletic than Warren. Both will be 1st round picks and as long as they don't go to a team like some of the teams we've been dealing with in Chicago over the last decade or more then both will have really good careers.Tice has Loveland as his TE1.![]()
2025 NFL Draft: Is Tyler Warren or Colston Loveland TE1? Breaking down 2 fun prospects at a challenging position
Warren is arguably the bigger name, and Penn State deployed him in a number of different ways. But don't undersell Loveland's potential here either.sports.yahoo.com
Yep, while guys that are on tv like Kiper and others basically do mock drafts of the 1st round over and over again, Brugler and a couple others really deep dive into the whole draft.Been reading a little bit about the later round tackles. There’s a few. Emphasis on a few. Ozzy Trapillo, Charles Grant, Anthony Belton, Jalen Travis, Myles Hinton. I’m looking forward to The Beast coming out. Where is the rest of it? Bears only have 1 pick this year? What do you not like about it?
That's exclusive contentWhere is the rest of it? Bears only have 1 pick this year?
I get what you mean, but not really the top guys. They are outliers outside the 1st round. It feels like LT is arguably the hardest position to find outside the top 20 picks… I guess QB too with how they’re over-drafted these days, but ignoring that for sake of discussion. The hit rate on OTs taken after the first round becoming above-average starting LTs must be pretty abysmal. We'd definitely have the better shot at finding a legit T/LT at #10 but i'm not gonna say a T/LT can't be found in another round when there's so many examples of T/LT's that have been found everywhere in the draft over the years.
I would of thought there would of been more than just Armstead and Dawkins.I get what you mean, but not really the top guys. They are outliers outside the 1st round. The only guys Thorn listed in his top 10 that aren’t 1st round picks are: Armstead (3rd round) and Dion Dawkins (2nd round). And, many of the top LTs are actually guys drafted in the top half or 2/3rds of the 1st round. His top 5 are all top 13 picks. In his top 10, 7 are top 15 picks… Darrisaw was the lone guy at 23 overall in the back third of the first. Even others like Matthews (6th overall) and Decker (16th overall) are in the next 3 slots in the rankings, being former 1sts.
If we look at just the guys team decide to pay, it’s also loaded with 1sts at the top end.

In the Bears case, they’d be juggling a decision on 3 similarly likely average at best talents. And the major issue is that if you take another guy in the 3rd or so this year, you’re forced to pray he or Kiran develops (against all odds) or you’re then paying Braxton… or you’re forced to draft a LT for the 3rd year in a row. To me, the Bears don’t need another development guy. They either draft a guy so they’re sure their long term starter is on this team this year or they opt to wait til next year and pour the resources into securing an elite prospect. If we had an elite QB already, maybe you can afford to let him just make magic happen without backside protection, but we’re obviously not there yet.
He and Chris Rose are super cringe on Sunday nights during the season. I honestly don’t know why MJD is there . He seems to hate it, not pay attention and generally has nothing interesting to say.Gotta love MJD and his kooky things he says though.
Walker, Johnson, Banks, Williams, Pearce, Green, etc…Who would you choose?
Great list.............thanks. OT in the first, don't overthink it.I get what you mean, but not really the top guys. They are outliers outside the 1st round.
