Let’s start out with The Athletic’s latest beat writers’ mock draft. Jahns picked for the Bears. This thread is for all NFL and Bears information for the 2025 draft.

“10. Chicago Bears: Ashton Jeanty, RB, Boise State​

Do the Bears need a running back? Probably not. Coach Ben Johnson has been very complimentary of veteran D’Andre Swift. But the Bears are in no position to pass on a blue chip player in their current state, regardless of their other roster needs and the value of other positions.

Give me Jeanty over the third-best offensive lineman (who might be best at guard) and the pass rushers who require some projection because of their lackluster production in college or are undersized. In Jeanty, the Bears add an elite difference-making weapon for Johnson’s offense. The Lions did the same when running back Jahmyr Gibbs was drafted at No. 12 two years ago. Johnson will remember that. His offense in Detroit changed because of it. Jeanty could have the same impact with the Bears. So, give me the potential star in Jeanty. — Adam Jahns”

I feel every year leading up to the draft these neat shiny toys all get predicted super high, then round 1 hits and DE and OL just FLY off the board. I have a feeling we'll see that on repeat.

Summary: Will Campbell will likely be the first lineman selected in this year's draft. As to where he will play on the offensive line, that is a different question. After recording a 77.18 wingspan at the combine, many are concerned about his fit as a tackle at the next level. There is no question about his talent as football player.

Ashton Jeanty (RB, Boise State)​

Summary: Ashton Jeanty finished second in Heisman voting after rushing for over 2,600 yards and 29 touchdowns. In a loaded running back class, Jeanty manages to stand out with his otherworldly tackle-breaking ability and agility. He willed the Boise State Broncos into the College Football Playoffs, and will make an immediate impact on whichever teams drafts him.

I wonder if they consider pushing him inside. I’m not sure I want him as a swing tackle since we’ve never seen him healthy and with a full off season.

If you look at combine visits for the Bears they went heavy oline, then Dline. All guys up and down the draft. Not just top tier.

Interestingly, only met with two RBs. The number 1 and 2 guys in the draft

Pick: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Comment: Upgrading the offensive line is a top priority for Ben Johnson as he attempts to reshape the Bears into a bully-ball squad that mauls and mashes opponents at the line of scrimmage.

Charles Davis, NFL.com (March 5)

Pick: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Comment: The Bears are already getting aggressive in the rebuilding of their offensive line, and that work continues in the draft. With Banks at left tackle and 2023 first-round pick Darnell Wright at right tackle, they have their bookends on the O-line for the next decade.

Josh Edwards, CBS (March 13)

Pick: Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty
Comment: Chicago has made wholesale additions to its roster, which could allow them to make what would have been considered a luxury selection just a few weeks ago. Ashton Jeanty is a net positive in both the run and pass games, which should take pressure off of young quarterback Caleb Williams.

Marco Enriquez, Pro Football Network (March 13)

Pick: Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou
Comment: Armand Membou is a ferocious pass blocker who holds his own in the run game. He has clean footwork, balance, and strong blocking fundamentals. While he primarily played right tackle in college, some NFL teams may project Membou as a guard due to his 6-foot-3 frame. Regardless, his versatility makes him a valuable addition to Chicago's OL.

Alan Goldsher, Sports Illustrated (March 16)

Pick: Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty at No. 5 (Bears move up five spots by sending 72nd selection in third round to Jaguars)
Comment: Jeanty's already lofty stock is rising, and at this point, it looks like he won't make it past Las Vegas at the six-spot. So if Poles and the Bears want to welcome the draft's most can't-miss offensive option—which they should—they'll need to leapfrog the Raiders…and they do just that while holding on to their two second-rounders.

David Helman, Fox Sports (March 13)

Pick: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Comment: It'd be a hell of a lot of fun to drop Ashton Jeanty behind this new-look Chicago offensive line, but for some reason I don't expect Ben Johnson to do that. The Bears have solid backs, and this is a deep class at that position. Instead, we're going to do the responsible thing and complete this offensive line makeover by drafting a franchise left tackle who also has the ability to play guard, if needed.

Pick: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Comment: The Bears need to devote their offseason to upgrading the group playing in front of Caleb Williams. Banks has the skill set to play tackle or guard.

Pick: Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr.
Comment: Kelvin Banks Jr. possesses elite athleticism, quick feet, and explosive movement, making him a high-upside NFL offensive tackle, though his inconsistent hand usage may create a learning curve against pro defenders. While he has the versatility to play guard, teams will likely keep him at tackle to maximize his potential.

Pick: Georgia linebacker Jalon Walker
Comment: The Bears get maybe the most versatile defensive player in the draft in Walker.

Seth Quinn, Newsweek (March 14)

Pick: LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell
Comment: Some draft experts view Campbell as a guard, but the Bears take him to be their left tackle of the future, the position he played exclusively in college. The Bears already shored up their interior offensive line, and they also shore up the exterior with this pick, so Caleb Williams has more time to make good decisions and extend plays.

Kyle Stackpole, CBS Sports (March 14)

Pick: Missouri offensive tackle Armand Membou
Comment: The Bears traded for guards Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson, and now they add perhaps the best offensive tackle in the class. You can never have too much protection for your franchise quarterback.

Ryan Wilson, CBS Sports (March 4)

Pick: LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell
Comment: Will Campbell has been my OT2 throughout, and while he's not as athletic as Kelvin Banks Jr., he's been incredibly consistent throughout his LSU career. He'll get questions about his sub-33-inch arm length, but just as he told reporters at the combine, I'd also encourage skeptics to go watch the tape.

Comment: For the second time in three drafts, Ryan Poles takes an offensive tackle with the No. 10 overall pick (SEE: Darnell Wright in 2023).”

He wasn't overdrafted, the guy was a projected 2nd rounder prior to injury. He fell because the injury he had was a very serious injury for OL and can be career ending at times.

Why do people judge a player off 1.5 games where he had no training camp, didnt play a football down for full season, and barely practiced?

I'm not saying kiran will even be a swing tackle in the NFL, but people writing him off is stupid AF.

He was highly regarded and not over drafted. However, the Bears really weren’t in a position to be drafting red shirt prospects last season especially at offensive line.

Im honestly shocked it exists.

If they take jeanty at #10 Im sure most of us will trust in ben johnson. Not the move I would make, it should clearly be OL/DL, but if he trades up for a RB people on here will go bonkers.

There is one, maybe two players they should be trading up for in this draft(Abdul Carter, Mason Graham)

We will have to wait for the draft, but in my opinion, Bears don’t have a lot of interest in OT if they feel Kiran is the guy to step up and give Jones competition. I’ll be happy to eat crow if they don’t draft an OT to compete.
